Yeah, so we got that going for us. You know, that's nice.

That's fun. That's good to hear. Like all that. Meanwhile, 24 teams in a college football playoff. Indeed. Are we going to get it or not?
I don't think you're going to get it. I don't think it's going to happen. They have to decide on it before December 1st this year, and I think they'll table it and go. The SEC doesn't want it.
Have to decide by December 1st for the 26th season? No, not for the 26th season, for 27. For 27, okay.
And right now there's too much ā the Big Ten, the ACC, and the Big 12 want it. The SEC is kind of split. Some of their people want it. Some don't. ESPN doesn't want it. Fox and other networks want it. So there's kind of a little too much disagreement for it to happen quickly. A lot of discussion is going to happen these next couple of weeks because we're all having their spring meetings.

SEC is going to Destin next week for their spring meeting. Big Ten has already had theirs. Big 12 will have theirs. So I think what's going to happen is some kind of compromise. I think they're going to go from 12 to 16 to 24. That'll be the progression. Just a thought on mine because the SEC is ā you can't do this unless all conferences are going to buy in and they're the loudest.
Chapter 5: What future matchups are planned for the Champions Classic?
Whether they're the most influential anymore with the Big Ten success the last few years, I don't know. But they're certainly the loudest. And ESPN controls it. And ESPN doesn't want it to happen.
If it's inevitable, why wouldn't ā like what's going to ā like if ESPN's a no now, what's going to make them be a yes later?
Well ā ESPN would still control a 16-team playoff. That's part of the contract. What they don't control would be anything larger than 16, is the way I understand it. Do they have any say in that? Well, I think networks and streaming services have influence.
I mean, if there's a contract that specifies 16, then I would think it would be, and if we go beyond, then we can open it up to everybody else. ESPN can kick and scream all they want, but if it's contractually written, they're like, no, no, we've decided to expand more, and we're welcome to hear your bid.
Yeah, yeah. Well, I do think that it's going to get to 24 at some point, whether it's, you know, by whether decisions made before December 1st this year or another time in the future. And I think the only way it works is if other networks get involved in it. And it... The first weekend of the NFL playoffs, every network's got a game, at least a game, right?
All the stakeholders in the NFL have a game. I think that's how it's going to have to work with college football. NBC's going to have games, and CBS is going to have games, and name your streaming service will have games. And to me, that's the only way it can work.
It's the only way they can get enough money to make it work because they're going to lose the money that they would make on conference championship games because those are going to be gone. Because they'll want the playoff to start the first weekend in December, which is conference championship weekend, and then go through the first or second weekend in January.
I don't have a strong feeling about this. I think you'll lose conference championship games and maybe some bowl games out of this. If they're being replaced with other college football games, I kind of don't care. I just want the games. And if you're looking at a 10-2 versus an 8-4, 9 versus 24 opening round of a college football playoff game, that's like a citrus bowl to me.
That's like a 10-2 SEC or a Big Ten against an 8-4 SEC team. That's the same thing as far as I'm concerned. So let's... If the schools can make more money with an expanded playoff, and I think they can if they bring other networks aboard, then go do it.

And... You know, for West Coast games there, the hosts were Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, BYU, Texas, and Austin, Utah, USC.

Then it's like, we're going to go two on this Thursday and one on a Friday. I think they'd be better off having, we're going to own this day.
And in the NFL, you want to take your chances that you've got a good Saturday game, okay, good luck to you. Yeah, yeah. But I think the NFL, I think college football should flex some muscle. Those games in college football, excuse me, I almost just spit all over myself. I don't know what the hell just happened there.
Those games in college football are single elimination games, so they mean something versus getting Titans-Jets. And even if you're like, no, we're going to cherry pick it, we're going Chiefs-Chargers. Okay. I mean, that's a good game, and all of Kansas City would watch, and both Charger fans would watch, and you'd have an element.
But the more compelling television is the team that's going to be out if they don't win. Right, right. And if you put multiple games on, then you've got the opportunity. What I think is great about the NCAA tournament is, well, we've got four games. Two of them are turds, but two of them are good. And we can watch that. You sell the ad revenue across.
But like you said, the only way you can do that is if you've got one network that's controlling it. You know, sell the advertising. Right. You know, or a partnership, whatever. I don't know how that the whole inner workings of true TV, TBS, TNT and CBS is, you know, affiliation. But but they're all in it. Like when you see an ad, it's running on all four networks. That's right.
