First, let's hear what was said at the podium today. We begin with Andy Reed talking about Patrick Mahomes, one of the big focuses with him going for 382, 3-0.
Listen, he's a he's a great player that got hurt and it's a matter of Just getting back into the swing, get your timing down, all that stuff and And um he's you know, he's got the same guys he's been throwing to now for A little bit, so He has comfort in that too. Um and he's feeling better. feel more confident as you go. So I I I think that's probably most part, but yeah, y what you see is You know, he's made progress and he just gotta keep going.
I think he's pretty close. I mean, uh we we you know, if we look back on it, you know if you want to say he's not I can't quite go there yet, that's fine, but I think it's entirely possible. Seven, eight games from now, six games from now, four games from now, you but you know when he was back? He was back week two. Uh he's been on a roll ever since and that's when he really was all the way back. Uh Patrick Mahomes was asked if he feels like he's all the way back.
I think just throughout the the this game I felt more comfortable just with myself being able to take hits and then step in and make the throws within the pocket. And you know, that first game it's just like any other preseason game. I d I and I never played that much with not playing the preseason. Usually you go to the preseason play one drive and then you're kinda done for that game, whereas I was playing an entire game and so um getting those reps kinda helped me kind of feel more comfortable this week. We worked on stuff throughout the week. week to kinda work on my fundamentals a little bit of not over striding and having the right base in the pocket and uh it paid off Okay.
Uh I thought it was interesting basically the first game kinda like a preseason game and it was up against the defending AFC West champion, Denver Broncos. But I mean that's how it really was for him. I mean talk about it and that's that's what you're doing. You're not only trying to win a game but you're also trying to get back up to speed.
