Hello and welcome to what we're going to be calling On-Street Insights. Today I'm Scott Mitchell Mum. Joining me is Josh Satil as we walk out of the Baku paddock for the first day here at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. For those of you who are listening to this through the main feed and haven't listened to this before, this is an on-the-go type. podcast that we do at the end of each day at each Grompery. It's normally called In Car Insights because you guessed it, we're normally in a car while we're recording it to and from the circuit, usually from the circuit in the evenings. But some races like in Baku where we're on the city streets, we are not in a car, but we're on foot Josh. It's the end of media day which is a Wednesday here.
We didn't forget that everything's happening a day earlier. How has your Wednesday been?
Well well let's start because people are probably adjusting their sets or adjusting their ears because that is Scott Mitchell Marmor here. They may have watched the Patreon video you did uh this week uh for the Race Members Club, they may have seen little snippets from you. But some of p some people might be listening and thinking, I recognise that voice, I've not heard him for a while. Did I not say my name at the start? Well you did. Oh okay. People might still might go, Scott Mitchell Marmor. Who's that again? Oh okay. So it was your first day back. So I think I think you should kick off. Oh, kind of a URB of you know, not been here for a few months. Uh you know. I I appreciate I appreciate it. Did you ease back into it?
Was it like you'd never been away or is it was there a bit of a a bit of a culture shock of uh Oh yeah, this is what a a Thursday is like even though it is a Wednesday. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, uh I'm more than happy to talk about uh myself, I suppose. Uh so we're just navigating well so we're literally coming out of the the the paddock and obviously that leads you right out into the the Baku streets, which are totally open to the public. We've come out of the bit where you need a pass to get into. So there's lots of people uh lots of people walking around, uh and just having to make sure that we don't bump into anybody, lots of people take in their own uh phot photos with nice bits of background so I understand that. Yes, so Uh yeah, today was really nice. Um I had a lovely welcome back from the the Race Members Club, which is where we normally do when I say we do in the car insights, this is where we normally publish uh or share this this recording.

And it turns out some people in the F1 paddock even noticed I wasn't around. So I've had some nice uh welcome backs today from a few different people and got um thrown straight into it having to chase the Estvan Ocon out of Hass. story. So um quite quickly as well. I mean that happened quite early in the day, right? Yeah. Yeah, we had sort of a Fairly I wouldn't say leisurely start, but we were having a fairly normal media day start with this opening sessions and then, yeah, got wind of or needed to chase that that story anyway.
And then it just became a bigger priority and then it sort of we we were at his media session 'cause we knew that it would be a A talking point, excuse me. Um And Esteban was uh He wasn't hiding the fact that he seemed to be a man heading for the exit door. So I dug into that a little bit more afterwards, spoke to multiple people and eventually nailed down the the story that we ran on the the website this afternoon. And um as uh as I said to my wife when she messaged me to ask how it was going and I said, uh I think it's going really well, uh pretty well. I've done a oh I think is a good story, so that's nice, but that story is also about someone losing their drive.
