Let go of the desperation of finding somebody and the right person will naturally come to you. The Effects of Praise ●Praise activates the reward areas in the brain. ●Research shows that receiving praise improves skill consolidation. This is a learning process that occurs during sleep. ●Praise is important not just in the workplace but also in relationships. It’s communication and feedback. ●Different people react differently to praise. Nonetheless, it’s important for them to hear compliments. Receiving and Responding to Praise ●Sometimes, people choose to reply humbly. ●For Tessa, a confident response can make her feel insecure about her value in the relationship. ●When you receive compliments, you can be gracious in accepting the praise by saying “thank you”. ●People tend to minimize their acceptance of praise. They negate or joke about it to turn away the praise. Fishing for Compliments ●It’s natural for people to want praise. ●One reason people look for compliments is when they need validation from others. ●People want to be valued for being as enough as they are. ●Rosie prefers honesty.
