In 2016 Christine had open heart surgery to address a rare heart defect, and almost exactly a year later Brett was diagnosed with throat cancer. After Brett was diagnosed for a second time in 2019, Brett and Christine decided to take their hobby for making delicious cashews and turn it into something special, all while still working their full time careers and raising their three children. Today B’s Gourmet Nuts can be found in over 140 stores in 26 states, and a portion of all proceeds goes towards the Cancer Wellness Center, a non-profit that has supported Brett and the entire Bowman family during their health challenges.
