What is the new Taurus sponsor and how does it relate to trail safety?
This episode is brought to you by a brand new sponsor I'm very excited to tell you about. It's called Taurus. I got mine right here. It's very handsome, wouldn't you say? It's got this really cool stand, lightweight. You can prop it on a rock to follow a workout, frame a shot hands-free, navigate without holding it. Then it just disappears back into the case, just like this. Snaps right in. Smart gear, not another accessory. Here's a way to think about it. You're out on a trail. Your phone isn't just a phone when you're out alone. It's your map, it's your camera, it's your Safety line, which means the real cost of dropping it isn't the screen. It's the low-grade worry that you carry with you the whole way.
And that's exactly what Taurus built the Q3 Air Pro to eliminate. They developed it with legendary climber Tommy Caldwell, Tommy's the man, and the engineering is genuinely clever. Their Air Duet dual layer airbag system, it has airbags. Works like sneaker cushioning. The outer layer intercepts the impact and the inner layer disperses what's left. So you get the serious protection in a case that stays slim enough and light enough for everyday life. I don't know about you, but I drop this thing constantly. But now, thanks to Taurus, I don't have to worry about it anymore. And right now, for all of you guys, Taurus is offering a very generous 15% off-your order of the Taurus Q3 Airproof. Bro. You're gonna do 50 marathons in 50 states in 24 days. Correct, yeah. This is a whole new level of insanity.
This is
Mission America. William Googe. William Googe ran across the entire United States. Fastest British person ever. He's an absolute beast when it comes to ultra.
On page with this should be the most difficult thing I've ever done. The level of intricacy and detail on this is unlike anything I've ever done before. So it has to flow exactly right. How do you think about that and prepare yourself? I think a lot of us move through life with fear and a lot of the time fear stops us from chasing our dreams or chasing our goals. So I have the most simple phrase, can I take another step? The answer's always yes.
Well, it's good to have you back here, man, for round two. Uh, I'm one of your biggest fans. Uh, you keep raising the bar on your challenges, challenging yourself. Uh, and you the latest iteration of this is very difficult to get my head around. Many people have run, I don't know how many, but more than a few have run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days. We all know Dean Carter. Uh He's probably the most celebrated person who's done it and he wrote a book about it. I know that book was very influential on you. Do we know how many people have done that?
I have no idea,
no. Yeah. I would imagine there's a handful at least,
right? Yeah, and they'd have probably done it over like a period of years as well. 'Cause there is one record for a lady that's done the fastest uh average time in all fifty states, which I assume would be at actual races. Mm. Yeah.
Right. But with no time limit on or like doing it in a calendar year or something like that. Right. But what you're about to embark upon on October third is at a whole other level. You're gonna do fifty marathons in fifty states and you're gonna do it in twenty four days. Correct, yeah.
The only thing is I'm starting October ninth, but Oh October ninth, sorry. Everything else is
golden. October 9. Um, it's difficult for me to even get my head around this. Uh not only are you kind of having, you know, cutting in half uh the amount of days that Dean did it, uh it's it's like then one more day. Like you could have set it for 25 and said, I'm gonna cut it in half, and you went to 24. I'm curious around that. Uh, this is bananas. On most days, you're gonna be. Running two marathons in two different states, but on four occasions, October seventeenth, October nineteenth, October twenty fifth, and October thirtieth, you're going to be running three marathons in separate states in a twenty four hour period. Yeah.
