A video shows one of the creators of Rick and Morty sitting on a couch riffing an experimental show prior to launching his hit show. On the video, a masked news anchor is presented as Rick Sanchez from the ‘7 PM News.’ Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are now into five seasons of the show. Roiland denies knowing of Sanchez prior to naming his character. The video seems to refute that, and he is seen watching the segment where Sanchez is introduced. At the time of the filming, Sanchez was the host of Rick’s List on CNN, which was one of the network’s highest rated shows.
