Real ones. Logan Murdoch here. Howard Beck there.
Chapter 5: What does Cooper Flagg's Rookie of the Year win mean for the NBA?
Roger Bell there. Fresh off the recruiting trail to talk shop. Let's get right into it, man.
Chapter 6: Should Joel Embiid have returned to the series?
Nuggets, Wolves. We're going to talk about them. We're going to talk a little Pistons, Cliffs Pistons. Then we're going to talk a little bit about Cliffs Sixers and Joel Embiid and See how that's going. But first, let's talk Nuggets Wolves.
Chapter 7: What are the implications of the Sixers' playoff performance?
Bit of a weird weekend for the Nuggets. Thought we were going to lose Aaron Gordon. He still plays on the calf muscle, on the strained calf, which seems like a bad sign for the Nuggets. But then, you know, they play, and DeSumo gets 43 points. And without... Ant Edwards, who hyperextends his knee. And it seems like the Nuggets are down bad.
But then we get a vintage Jokic performance in game five. 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists. And I really don't know where this series is going, Howard. I know you're big on predictions. What is your prediction for this series and where we're going from here?
I'm going to predict that the team that's missing its entire starting backcourt is probably in trouble. There's a shocker. There's a hot take. I mean, this was... I mean, it's still bordering on tragedy for the Denver Nuggets because they are still down 3-2 in the series. They're not out of the woods yet.
And all it takes is, like, one more turned ankle, pulled hamstring, bad Jokic night, bad Jamal Murray night, whatever, and they could still lose this series to a team missing its superstar guard in Anthony Edwards and its, you know, next most important guard in Dante DiVincenzo. Like, I... The Nuggets are fortunate to be alive in this series right now. The Nuggets are fortunate.
Unfortunately, I hate to say it this way. They are fortunate that the Timberwolves are now just beset by serious debilitating injuries that are probably going to tip the series. And it will give the Nuggets... Let's fast forward. You asked for a prediction? All right. The Nuggets will climb out of the 3-1 hole that they were originally in.
They will win this series, and we'll get to see Jokic versus Wemby in the second round, which is what I think a lot of us had hoped for, unless you're a Timberwolves fan, sorry. But they got a lot of shit to do between now and that next round, including trying to just get healthy if they can. They're not exactly going to have a lot of time since this thing now has to go the distance.
I don't know, man. The Nuggets, I thought, came into this postseason as a legit contender. And right now, win the series or not, they're a diminished figure collectively. And Jokic is diminished by the struggles he's had in this series.
I'm with you, Howard. I just don't know if I can fully go that they're not contenders just based on just... That's how much I believe in Jokic and how I believe in this program and also how much I've seen over the last...
few years where they play with their food and they look bad and then you know they play against OKC and they take them to seven games right like I still even as debilitated as they are with the guys that they are are you with me Roger or do you think that this is OK no they're not they were the food they weren't they weren't playing with their food they were the food Minnesota Minnesota was was eating them alive and

Chapter 8: How does team culture affect Kevin Durant's success?
Are they getting refs that aren't reffing the other NBA games to ref those fucking games? Because they look like they're playing football out there, bro. That thing is like a football series. I'm not complaining. I was watching. I was like, man, these Jokers are really getting physical.
Well, I do wonder, though, Raja, if it's like, you know, you've been obviously playing for a long time. When you set the tone as two teams that were just going to be physical, I think everybody kind of falls in line with that. So I think that we're seeing that in this series. But as physical as it's been... The Magic are beating the Pistons around. They are, right?
They're kind of setting the tone with the physicality, with defense. Cade has had a lot of turnovers. I think, though, Raju, when I want to... I think from a Pistons standpoint, they just need Jalen Duren, bro. And they're not getting what they're supposed to be getting from a number two, right? And what I see every time that I watch the Pistons in this series...
Me and you have talked about this for years. When your guys aren't doing what they're supposed to do, it makes it so that other guys have to overcompensate and have to play out of themselves in order to keep you guys afloat, right? And there's a lot of guys right now, a lot of role guys that should be playing their roles, but they're having to overcompensate because Durant isn't
taking the scoring load, isn't getting the rebounds, isn't being the guy that he was the backstretch of the season. And that's what's frustrating for me because the Pistons in all likelihood should be in prime position to win this series because it's not like the Orlando Magic are shooting the ball well. Like, Paolo's not shooting particularly well. Franz isn't shooting particularly well.
The only person that's shooting well is Desmond Bain, right? They're playing their defense, but...
it's still close games i just think that if the pistons lose the series they're gonna go back and look at duran and be like yo man like we needed you here you are the anecdote to all of this and all of these problems and you see him be just so indecisive it's really frustrating to watch the pistons because of that well yeah i mean you know in a nutshell really simply if you're number one and number two aren't
playing like number ones and number twos in series that have a level of competitiveness to them, like a 1-8, you might get away with that. You know what I mean? Like a true 2-7 where the seven really doesn't have a shot and your number two isn't playing great, you might be able to survive.
But this was always going to be somewhat like competitive because even though it's 1-8, you know, the Pistons have their flaws as a team and Orlando, you know, hadn't been playing well, but like stylistically, we talked about it coming in. Stylistically, this was a good match, I thought, for Orlando, right?
