And we're staying in this airport hotel in Newark. What a terrible mistake this was by me. I thought, well, look, there's the airport hotel. Obviously, that'll be easy to get to from the airport. How about not? How about the hotel right beside the airport actually isn't easy to get to from the airport at all. Obviously, you can't walk there, even though you could easily walk there because it's like a few hundred meters. But you can't because there's no way to do that without being killed by the cars. So instead, they've got like a system of half hourly shuttles. But the shuttles don't really pick you up at the airport. They pick you up at the shuttle port, which is like a train ride from the airport.
So in fact, the airport hotel is like the worst place you could stay. if you want to get to the airport quickly. It's really, really annoyed me, Owen. It's taken a lot of energy out of me today just thinking bitterly about this airport hotel and how awful it is and how brutal the shuttle setup is. And I've been frustrated. There's been a lot of frustration for me today, Owen, with the Americans, particularly exiting that stadium because we didn't wait for the slow-moving media elevator with the big queue. But instead, we said, why don't we go down the ramp? We came up the escalator. We'll go down the ramp. And then we came down the ramp, and we found ourselves in this incredibly slow-moving human mass.
This just incredibly slow-moving crowd of Americans. This, like, human traffic jam. You're like, why is nobody moving their legs here? Why don't we walk? Why don't we try and walk down this ramp? Why is everyone standing around like in confusion? They seem to be waiting for like a golf cart to come and pick them up and bring them down the ramp. Unbelievable. Americans on their feet are not, they're slow moving. They're a slow moving people. they drive like maniacs they drive like absolute maniacs but when get them on their feet and they become extremely cow like and start to look around you should see them trying to get on a plane owen you should see what happens when americans try to get on a plane it's incredible and they're getting on planes the whole time but they don't seem to be any good at it and they don't seem to have worked out i think you know what it is it's like their system of
There's all of these tiers. You can pay this amount or this amount to go through security this quickly or this quickly. You know what I mean? And if you don't want to pay extra charges, it's going to take you a long time to get through security. And that's what you have to put up with if you don't want to pay the extra charge. But somehow this interferes with the efficiency of boarding the plane. Yeah. They need to send people over to Europe and learn from Ryanair and other airlines about how this is done. Because it's so simple, really. And yet, these Americans just don't seem to be able to handle it at all. Honestly, there's been some very frustrating situations for me. I've managed... mindful of the concealed carry laws not to explode at anyone yet but it could be happening if I just see one more person like dawdling in the lane like oh what should I should I put on my jacket should I fold up my jacket just put your stuff in the bed and sit down just sit down get out of the way and sit down or stand in out of the way and let the people behind you pass while you put your stuff up why is it so it's so obvious and they don't get it
