Hello and welcome to the Sounding Board Scorecard for DrinkWise. If you're choosing to drink, choose to DrinkWise. My name's Sam Watson and I've got eight statements for Hutchie and Damo to rate out of ten. Lisa Wilkinson briefly returned to the Today Show last week. She should co-host with Carl Stefanovic when Sarah Arbo goes on maternity leave.

0

32.143 - 33.565 Damian Barrett

Zero. Two.

0

34.203 - 54.111 Sam Watson

Suncorp Super Netball's decision to go for reach over revenue and put the sport on free-to-air TV is a smart one. Eight. Pass. Graham Wright's presser regarding Elijah Hollands on Sunday morning did more harm than good to the Carlton Football Club. Three. Four.

0

54.632 - 62.623 Sam Watson

I'm hoping you've seen this story, boys, but the backlash to Nike's Boston Marathon billboard that said runners welcome, walkers tolerated was unwarranted.

63.734 - 70.749 Craig Hutchison

I haven't seen it, so I'm going to have a leap of faith answer here for you. I'd say it was unwarranted, 10.

71.03 - 79.448 Sam Watson

Six. Ross Lyons' recent behaviour towards journalists in his post-game press conferences is disrespectful. Seven. One.

Chapter 2: What impact will LIV Golf have in Adelaide?

79.428 - 106.819 Sam Watson

The future of live golf in doubt. The South Australian government would be silly to go ahead with its $45 million redevelopment of the North Adelaide public golf course. That's a good statement to rank. Six. Five. Adelaide sticking with South Australia. Adelaide Oval is hatching a bold plan to host a regular season IPL game as soon as next March. It's hard to see this ever happening. Three. One.

0

108.082 - 117.174 Sam Watson

After the fanfare and coverage they received from Australian media, we could be forgiven for forgetting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer working royals.

0

Chapter 3: How does the new SSN TV rights deal affect the sport?

117.635 - 135.118 Craig Hutchison

Seven. Six. I like those array of questions there today. Not bad. Jane wrote those. No, well, they're not highly political. That's why I think I like them. They're very well done. Doubly. And they're good thought provokers. Yeah, it's as though Harry and Meghan weren't on the nose like they had been for some time, wasn't it?

0

135.098 - 139.684 Craig Hutchison

Did you, by the way, before we go, did you hear about the double agent sleeping on the weekend on Friday?

0

140.284 - 149.636 Damian Barrett

I'm only caught up with this in the last, just five minutes before the show started. He missed the first 30 minutes of Fireball on Friday because he just, and he had all the content on his laptop. Oh no. Oh no.

0

150.217 - 152.339 Craig Hutchison

What happened, W? It wasn't my finest moment.

0

152.78 - 153.481 Sam Watson

We'll put it down to that.

153.541 - 155.023 Craig Hutchison

I've never seen you let this show down.

Chapter 4: What was the controversy surrounding Nike's Boston Marathon billboard?

155.243 - 156.084 Sam Watson

That's all that matters.

0

156.464 - 171.488 Craig Hutchison

Yeah, exactly. Yeah. You okay? Yeah, I'm all good. I'm all good. All right. You can make that mistake once on the catch, can't you? Yeah. Well, we've all done it once. Have you done it? Yeah. Have you? Yep. My word. We should have talked about sleep. We'll do that next week. Actually, we'll do that one next week too.

0

Chapter 5: How does Ross Lyon's behavior affect his team's media relations?

171.829 - 172.59 Damian Barrett

Media sleep-ins.

0

172.61 - 177.301 Craig Hutchison

I've got a moment that I can refer to. I've got a couple. I've got a couple of doozies. Have you? Yep. Okay.

0

Chapter 6: What are the implications of the South Australian government's golf course redevelopment?

177.481 - 183.154 Craig Hutchison

We've got two topics already for next week. Yep. Adelaide Oval. Yeah. I wouldn't rule anything out with Peter Malinowski.

0

183.194 - 185.499 Damian Barrett

I think you can get it done. Sure, and it'd be fabulous.

0

185.519 - 201.91 Craig Hutchison

It'd bring the Indian community a lot in the South Australian cricket community. And another Adelaide one. I have thought about this without doubly erasing it, but it's a good point. If they are going to change the golf course for the Live Golf event, which is one of the more successful live events, is it still worth pursuing, Hutchie, given the events with the money?

0

201.89 - 217.372 Damian Barrett

I don't know the funding model. That's why I said five. If the funding is there, I think it'd be still fabulous because I'm sure they'll attract other things like the Australian Open or PGA or something. But if it's tied to that funding, then obviously you couldn't do it. That's why I said five. I had no problem with Ross being a bit theatrical.

0

217.492 - 219.595 Damian Barrett

You've got to live with some of that when you deal with Ross.

219.755 - 237.058 Craig Hutchison

Yeah. I didn't mark it highly, but I did have an issue with an element of it, which we discussed in the main body. The runners welcome, walkers tolerate it. I think Nike is... Tongue in cheek. Tongue in cheek. And remember, there is no finishing line and just do it. I'd go back from the 80s. I think it's just a continuation of that. And yeah, I don't have an issue with it.

237.078 - 238.282 Craig Hutchison

I wasn't aware of the backlash to it.

Chapter 7: What are the latest developments regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tour of Australia?

239.025 - 254.696 Craig Hutchison

Look, I felt for Graeme Wright because... Look, I think it's fair to say, Hutchie, he's not, and again, I don't mean to be disparate, he's not the best public speaker when it comes to moments. And he was dealing with one of the more, in fact, arguably the most emotional, emotive, contentious issue in sport for the year.

0

255.417 - 264.328 Craig Hutchison

And he probably didn't nail the media moments, did he, on Sunday, when he tried to explain where the club was at. He did the right thing to front the media. Correct. And that's what I'm trying to say.

0

264.849 - 278.527 Damian Barrett

But he just didn't quite nail his messaging. No. Uh, I'm obviously privy to the nipple deal and everything around it and where and how and what it's paid and what isn't paid and who else benefits. So you settle the fence on that? I'm staying out. I understand.

0

278.587 - 296.594 Damian Barrett

Other than I'd say this, it's fabulous to have a sport back on Fredoware television and we welcome Channel 9 as an industry and we thank Fox and KO for a fabulous job covering nipple over the years. Yep. And, yeah, I think today's show has got to go forward now. They can't go down yesterday's street, particularly with Carl leaving.

0

297.375 - 309.995 Damian Barrett

And it'll be a harder road to continue to double down on new ideas. Sarah's magnificent, obviously, so I'm sure they'll have a new... Have you got a thought, given you've led the way with the Carl element to this? Have you got a thought? I haven't thought it through, no.

310.095 - 311.377 Craig Hutchison

Can we table this for next week too?

311.397 - 313.2 Damian Barrett

Very hard to find, aren't they? Sort of...

313.18 - 317.646 Craig Hutchison

Yeah, but you know the landscape. I'm going to get you to put up a name next week for us.

318.007 - 318.788 Damian Barrett

Okay. I'll put a couple up.
