Don't Build a Business on Hope Many businesses fail because they operate on optimism rather than planning. Hiring relatives because you feel sorry for them. Giving jobs to relatives who need financial help. Hiring family members who already owe you money. Hiring someone solely because a parent or relative recommended them. Business decisions should be based on qualifications and fit, not emotions. 8. Use a 90-Day Probation Period Rushion believes a structured probation period helps protect both employer and employee. Key checkpoints include: 30 Days: Review performance and reinforce expectations. 60 Days: Evaluate progress and determine whether improvement is occurring. 90 Days: Decide whether the employee is a long-term fit for the organization.
