In this episode, I explore one of the simplest yet most powerful principles for creating a life of peace, resilience and authenticity: if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Too many people ignore their intuition because they are worried about disappointing others, missing an opportunity or appearing selfish. They say yes when every part of them wants to say no. They stay in relationships that drain them, remain in jobs that destroy their wellbeing and make decisions based on fear rather than conviction. Over time, every compromise chips away at confidence and self respect. Your intuition is often your greatest early warning system. It isn’t about making emotional or impulsive decisions. It’s about recognising when something is fundamentally out of alignment with your values, your purpose and the life you want to build. Learning to trust that instinct takes courage because it often means having difficult conversations, setting firm boundaries and walking away from situations that other people expect you to tolerate. Throughout my years in policing, my own struggles with PTSD and depression, and now coaching thousands of people to create stronger lives, I have seen the cost of ignoring that inner voice. Every time we override what we know to be true, we create unnecessary stress and internal conflict. Every time we honour it, we build confidence, resilience and self trust. The people who live the strongest lives are not those who never face difficult decisions. They are the people who are willing to listen to themselves, even when it is uncomfortable. They understand that temporary discomfort is far better than the long term regret of living someone else’s version of success. If something consistently doesn’t feel right, give yourself permission to pause, reflect and choose differently. Your peace, your relationships and your future will almost always benefit from decisions that are aligned with who you truly are.
