Chapter 1: What was Tony's experience at the Nats game with his family?
Hey, it's Tony. On today's show, we're going to talk to Michael Wilbon about the NBA playoffs and also about the Kentucky Derby, which he actually enjoyed. We're going to talk more about the Derby with Pat Forty, who knows what he's talking about and was there. But first, commerce.
Previously on the Tony Kornheiser Show. I remember the first day that I met you. was probably three or four weeks before the show hit air. And I was sitting in the newsroom with the very small group that we had that had been working. And you walked into the newsroom, and I think truly it was the first time that I had heard you speak.
And you looked at the group and you said, I hope you all are renting and not buying.
Chapter 2: How did the Nats perform against the Brewers over the weekend?
Yeah, there's no chance the show's going to make it.
The Tony Kornheiser Show is on now.
That is the voice of Josh Maurer, who is one of the radio guys. Revealed he wasn't listening to the national radio show. Right, right. But he's one of the radio guys in Milwaukee. Yes. And Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Brewers. And they came to play the Nats this weekend, won the first two games, Friday, Saturday, lost yesterday, Sunday. The Nats pitching was fine in all the games.
Chapter 3: What insights did Michael Wilbon share about the NBA playoffs?
Yeah. Even pitchers that I hate, like Little, he was fine. Littell got the win. You know, is it Littell? Littell, yeah. Yeah, he was fine. Did Meatball, Mikolas get in any of the games? No, I don't think so. I don't think so. But the pitching was fine.
Chapter 4: What were Pat Forde's thoughts on the Kentucky Derby?
But they're using the opener for him.
Yeah. I don't know what that means. I guess nerves or something. Who knows?
I think where you want to get into the order.
So, but whatever.
Yeah.
So they won yesterday. They didn't hit in the first two games.

Chapter 5: What interesting story did Tony share about a ferry operator?
They got a total of two runs. The pitching was fine. The pitching was again fine yesterday. And they got three runs. So they won. So they went one and two at home against the Brewers. I saw this morning on a crawl that it was their first home win since April 21st. I had no idea. I had no idea that that could possibly be true. Is that true?
Chapter 6: How did the conversation shift to the Kentucky Derby's outcome?
I mean, if it's on the crawl, it's true. Who knows? Well, they just had a big—they were away when they played the Mets. Yeah. Yeah, that four-game stand against the Braves, and the Braves put up a million runs.
So I went to the game Saturday because my son and daughter-in-law and the whole family and Chan and Kate went to the game.
Can you explain how many tickets— We had to do a reset, so we had tried earlier in the week. This is before I know that Josh— You know, Alan is mad at you because he says, I'll get you tickets. Okay, Alan has access to four tickets in the sun. We needed seven tickets in the shade.
Chapter 7: What was discussed in the mailbag segment?
Okay. So we go through various sites to try and get tickets.
Seven in the shade. Seven in the shade.
And through third-party sellers and through the Nationals website, we could not buy an odd number of tickets in our selected section.
Nice section, 213.
Yeah, so we were right above the action behind home.
Home plate, very nice.
Good seats. Yes, always you start by searching for aisle access.

Chapter 8: What final thoughts did Tony share at the end of the episode?
We wanted the aisle, and we ended up having to get eight tickets, which we were prepared to burn because it was going to be our best option to protect where we wanted to sit. And part of that's, you know, we had grandpops, we had Chan with us, and we want to make sure he's able to get in and out of the aisle. So we were fine with that.
We then realized Josh is going to be on the show, and he invites you, gives you the soft invite to come up and say hi in the booth.
So I go, this is going to work out. Would have gotten me a ticket and parking. Parking?
Well, Alan got the parking. Alan had the parking.
We're halfway to the game.
Let me just see if I can get player lot. Player lot. Player lot is a week ahead of time ask. It's not a 30 minutes before first pitch ask. I tried. So even better, we are in a section that is very close to the elevator bank that takes you up to the various press boxes. Can I ask you a question? Did Alan really have parking? Yeah, yeah, no, Alan had parking. I'll park you right here. It's fine.
Trust me, it's fine. No, he gave us parking. So we sit down. We watch the first couple innings. And I know that you are invited where you can go up for the fifth inning. So we get up. Liz is going to take the little guys downstairs to the play area. I take you to the elevator. And I get to say hi to Josh, drop you off. And you're gone for a longer than expected amount of time.
An inning and a half, maybe.
So at this point, I'm like, are you doing a bit on local radio in Milwaukee? So I'm texting Saliza to see if he has any. He's just going through.
