The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby

Asking my wife UNCOMFORTABLE questions guys are too afraid to ask

Wed, 26 Feb 2025

Description

Matt puts Abby in the hot seat with the most uncomfortable questions guys are too afraid to ask. From whether a C-section is “cheating birth” to if she’d remarry if Matt died, nothing is off-limits. They also debate why women say one thing but mean another, why asking “are you on your period?” is a terrible idea, and Abby’s honest take on what romance really looks like. Chapter 1: Why do girls say one thing but mean another?

0.069 - 2.71 Matt

Why do girls say one thing but always mean another?

0

2.97 - 3.55 Abby

I do that?

0

3.61 - 4.11 Matt

You do that?

0

4.13 - 6.031 Abby

I feel like I'm a clear communicator.

0

6.071 - 7.852 Matt

What is the biggest ick a guy could give?

8.032 - 9.632 Abby

Picky eating is a big ick for me.

Chapter 2: What is the biggest ick a guy could give?

9.652 - 12.253 Matt

When I told you I didn't like cheese or chocolate, did that kind of piss you off?

0

12.353 - 13.434 Abby

It agitates me.

0

13.494 - 17.235 Matt

What's wrong with asking your girlfriend, are you on your period, when they're overreacting?

0

17.275 - 18.416 Abby

Do I need to explain that?

0

18.496 - 25.338 Matt

If you're a man watching this, you need to put the are you on your period question into the no square. Would you remarry if I died?

25.358 - 26.879 Abby

It's kind of sad to think about.

26.899 - 45.818 Matt

That's really sad. We asked you guys to submit juicy questions guys are too afraid to ask. Thank you to everyone that submitted their questions on our Unplanned Podcast Instagram. Our first question, starting off strong, is why do girls talk about sex so much and intimate topics with their friends?

Chapter 3: What's wrong with asking if she’s on her period?

46.75 - 64.487 Abby

I like talking about it with other women that are married. It's not something that you can like talk about super openly. So then when I'm in company that I'm like, okay, these are also people in my same stage of life. They're my close friends and they're also married and they're women. I would not talk about it with men ever.

0

64.727 - 76.153 Matt

What's shocking to me is it sounds like you and your lady friends will just like drop your drawers in front of each other. Like you guys have seen each other. Haven't you like seen each other without your clothes on? Because I don't just see my dude friends with no clothes on.

0

76.193 - 86.778 Abby

I wouldn't say that happens on a regular basis, but if we're like changing, then I feel like men would probably tend to go to separate rooms, whereas women would be more likely to change in front of each other.

0

86.978 - 88.258 Matt

Maybe you just have more confidence than me.

0

88.759 - 91.62 Abby

Well, you know, I feel like a lot of it has to do with

93.081 - 117.314 Abby

having had babies you lose a certain level of modesty that i don't think i ever fully regained that especially okay between pregnancy birth and breastfeeding you just some you lose some of that you don't quite gain all of it back i gained some of it back you've had so many women and nurses and doctors see your hoo-ha when you're giving birth i've also always kind of been that way like i think i did dance growing up and we were like always in dressing rooms i did theater

117.774 - 120.737 Matt

And everyone's just seeing each other with their clothes with their clothes off and dance.

121.037 - 126.242 Abby

Also, I don't think my parents like I would I still describe myself as a modest person.

126.542 - 127.884 Matt

Well, wasn't that a thing?

Chapter 4: Why do women talk about intimate topics with friends?

198.453 - 222.036 Abby

that's funny i'm always going back and forth between like okay i need to cover up keep my body private and then also like it's just a body and we don't need to like make it so much more than it is we don't need to like sexualize everything why do girls say one thing but always mean another yes can we please talk about this i do that you do that i feel like i'm a clear communicator you were not a clear communicator okay give me one example

0

222.316 - 225.179 Matt

I can think of one right now, but I can't say it for personal reasons.

0

225.259 - 229.523 Abby

I always tell my friends, I'm like, don't leave them like wondering, like just tell them.

0

229.663 - 240.694 Matt

I need extremely black and white communication. It's literally like, I almost want you to order me around. Okay. Can I tell you what it is? Well, I'm going to tell you what it is right now and then we're going to bleep it out. Okay. Sure.

0

241.896 - 244.398 Abby

I mean, here's the thing. Language has two parts, right?

244.899 - 245.119 Matt

Yeah.

246.038 - 266.746 Abby

body language and like tone and then the actual words you say yeah and i feel like if we're generalizing which it seems like this whole video stereotypes and generalizing i'm not trying to generalize i'm just asking the questions that are given to me right here these are the questions submitted by our viewers that's the whole concept so maybe they're pretty sexist matt it wasn't a personal thing i'm just saying that's what this the format of this video is okay sorry

267.106 - 289.345 Abby

The reason I think a woman would maybe not say exactly or like tiptoe around what they actually want is because it's extremely romantic to feel known. And so if your partner, like you're like, I didn't even say I wanted this or I didn't even say that X, Y, and Z. And they just knew that. That makes you feel so known and so loved.

289.636 - 295.179 Matt

Do you know I don't care about that nearly as much as you do, but I've been training myself.

Chapter 5: What is the hardest thing about being a woman?

371.399 - 374.061 Matt

No, I feel like most guys would say that. I would say that.

0
0

376.864 - 385.09 Matt

I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm joking. Okay. It's a joke. What's wrong with asking your girlfriend, are you on your period when they're overreacting?

0

385.834 - 388.936 Abby

That's a very bad time to ask when they're overreacting.

0

389.016 - 407.865 Matt

Yeah, that would be bad. Do I need to explain that? I was reading that as someone asking one of their friends that's a girl, like two of their fellow gal pals. But now I'm realizing this is a man asking this question, referring to their girlfriend. I just forgot that men can have girlfriends because I've been married to you for so long. I just assume everyone's married.

408.105 - 413.868 Abby

It's okay to ask, like, did you get your period? If it's like they want to know how to cater to you.

413.928 - 414.248 Matt

Yes.

414.568 - 421.133 Abby

but it's not okay to ask at that time because then you're kind of just like weaponizing their

422.628 - 447.431 Matt

femininity you're like their cycle you know a lot of men i think think in very like black and white terms or like little squares that's how my brain works and i feel like if you're a man watching this you need to put the are you on your period question into the no square like you've never asked me that that is a square and that's why it's in the no square i just don't ask that question what is the hardest thing about being a woman

Chapter 6: How important are alone time and personal space in a relationship?

568.721 - 572.884 Abby

I don't really want to. That's a waste of a life to always critique yourself.

0

573.244 - 574.205 Matt

Well, it's kind of like the grass.

0

574.225 - 574.986 Abby

It's also very vain.

0

575.888 - 580.351 Matt

Yeah, it's like if you always think the grass is greener, it's like maybe you just need to water the grass on your side of the street.

0

580.411 - 586.735 Abby

There you go. I feel like we should get an embroidered pillow that says that. Just water your own grass.

586.795 - 588.416 Matt

Water your own grass.

588.796 - 606.083 Abby

No, I guess I would just like, the thing I'm envious about men is that their regimen seems to be very efficient. oh yeah like i got ready like you just brush your teeth and out the door i do that but i don't feel like i'm my put together self and i do that i feel like you guys feel pretty complete if you just throw on your nice pants and brush your teeth

606.371 - 629.843 Matt

yeah that's how that's actually how i feel like like why was my first initial thought to be like walk around with no shirt on when that's not even like really a desire i see that was that was why i was laughing is because i would have looked at myself naked immediately if i was a woman assuming that i still have a man brain because i'm just you know if i would like i like literally today i want to walk around in the man body do you like the words of affirmation that i give you when you get out of the shower is a little too much

631.085 - 658.833 Abby

um sometimes i'm like i just went to the library with our one and two year old like the the shifts that happen in my day are shocking the shifts that happen i'm like my transitions are abrupt that's like the tiktok that i sent you that was me going back to being a parent after doing unspeakable things with my spouse and it's just like this little audio where these two parents are just pretending like everything is normal i i yeah that's that's our life yeah the transitions as a parent are pretty crazy

Chapter 7: What is the most unattractive thing a guy could do?

998.454 - 1001.976 Matt

And that's still work on, on the woman, you know?

0

1002.196 - 1022.786 Abby

Or even just like sometimes when it's a stressful day or, you know, kids losing it and the day is really busy and there's a lot to get done, we feel behind. Sometimes it can also be stressful to be fielding the question like, well, it comes from a good place. Be like, well, what can I do? Like that feels like kind of like another task added to a stressful list of tasks to do.

0

1024.087 - 1029.99 Abby

That's why it's kind of good to like, it's not bad to ask, but it feels good to just like step in.

0

1030.43 - 1036.731 Matt

What is the most unattractive thing a guy could do? I feel like you could write a book on this. I feel like I do some really nasty stuff.

0

1036.871 - 1047.974 Abby

I think in general, the most unattractive thing in a person in general is for me, this is a personal thing. I think large egos are like arrogance. That bothers me.

1048.014 - 1060.358 Matt

Arrogance. Am I an arrogant person? No. Okay. Do you think I'm physically attractive? Yes. The next question is, do you think your husband is the hottest, most sexiest man?

1060.718 - 1061.798 Abby

Well, did you read my cards?

1062.279 - 1062.779 Matt

Yes, I did.

Chapter 8: Is a guy who isn't afraid to show emotions a red flag?

1063.279 - 1064.44 Abby

Well, then what's your answer?

0

1064.74 - 1065.7 Matt

The answer would be yes.

0
0

1067.581 - 1072.064 Matt

I just want to hear it in your own words, though. I'm a words of affirmation guy, so this stuff means a lot to me.

0

1072.204 - 1072.904 Abby

On the podcast?

1073.244 - 1075.125 Matt

If you could just verbally say it for the entire world.

1075.145 - 1076.146 Abby

You're the hottest man I know.

1076.306 - 1080.448 Matt

Why? Is it my round touchy?

1085.38 - 1087.0 Guest

Yeah, it's your round tushy.
