It is Thursday, and today we are talking about the first episode of the sixth season of Slow Horses. Yeah. And then later in the episode, I talked to Chuck Klosterman about his new book, his upcoming new book, Rock. Uh it was a great conversation with Chuck. It uh known Chuck for for two decades now, more than two decades, and it's awesome that he is still writing books that provoke and um And intrigue. I love this premise. And the premise of his book is really fascinating. It's what if the Velvet Underground had essentially flipped positions with the Beatles in nineteen sixty seven and become the biggest band in the world? And how would the world have changed going forward?
We have talked about this in different contexts on this podcast, but I think of everyone that I've ever met in this long and winding road of life, there are only two people who are exactly consistent and exactly the same on the page, on the pod, and in person. And they are Chuck Klosterman and Bill Simmons.

Um all right, let's do let's let's do sort of broad strokes. Yeah. There's some important things to note about series six, season six of Slow Horses. Um, I would say probably one of the most consistently rewarding television shows of this decade. And one of the great productions of this decade, I would say. The idea of adapting a long-running um spy series. By Mick Heron and using a book per season, although this this particular season uses multiple books, um, has just been an absolute boon. I think it's a show that I anecdotally feel like grows over time, uh, that people go back and and rediscover or discover as they more and more people inevitably wind up using Apple TV as their like either as their set top box or as like a

a streaming service of choice. And I think Tonally is probably for too long been thought of as just one thing. And one of the cool things about this season is I think it's going to explore some darker corners of the slow horse's world.

And I think you could see that in the first season, first episode.
