He's a bit shook, um he's a bit sore uh this morning, um but um I can confirm that he's back in Kerry. Uh we got him back to Kerry very late last night um and uh he he's at home uh at the moment. Um but like that, uh as you can imagine after an incident like that, uh a bit shook uh but sore as well this morning, Joey.
Yeah, I can imagine. Uh look what can you say what are the extent of his injuries?
Uh so he he received uh several stitches to the the m the area around his mouth um last night in in Saint Vincent's hospital. Um uh so that's uh and he kinda has um uh a sore kinda a neck and things like that. But um that's kinda the the extent of it we I suppose in in a way jury you could say that he that he's lucky that he that he the injuries weren't uh too serious uh in in nature. Um but um I suppose nearly more than anything, you know, for anyone if you're driving along in a car and if you're strap stopped at traffic lights uh and all of a sudden somebody is hanging uh uh hanging off the inside window uh the inside of your the window of your car, uh i i it's quite a a terrifying experience and uh even more so what was worse to be honest
I was on the phone to him. uh when it was happening. Uh I w we were talking on the phone uh while while he was leaving Dublin uh and um and I heard the whole thing on in the in the background but um so Oh my god, you could actually hear
what
was
happening.
I I could hear everything that was happening. Uh you could hear somebody kind of starting to to shout from from a distance uh and then within seconds all of a sudden all you could hear was an awful commotion uh going on inside in the car uh as as it was happening. Um so I could hear all that while that was going on, but obviously I didn't I wasn't able to rightly understand what was happening, only that something something very, very uh series was was happening uh on the other end of the line.
And to your extent, what did what did happen, Jackie? Was it was it as you described there, was he blindsided by somebody who first of all shouted and then started physically assaulting him?

That's that's about the extent of it. Um, like even when I was on the phone you could hear Somebody shouting from a distance um and obviously the window of the car was down. It's a warm evening. You're traveling home, you're travelling at at at a at a s a snares pace through Dublin City at around four o'clock in the evening. Uh so it's not quick a quick journey. Um and uh you could hear somebody shouting in the background and all of a sudden then just like I say, at the click of a finger, it just turns from uh to chaos really.

Yeah, a very shocking incident that happened uh yesterday afternoon and certainly has sent shockwaves. um throughout the political, I suppose, establishment in Ireland and you said mentioned there um that uh Councillor Jackie Healeray, who is Michael Healeray's son and former um his former ministerial adviser when he was a junior minister, was speaking there. But also we had comments in the doll last night. This happened uh yesterday afternoon, news came out yesterday evening when um T Ds were actually in the doll chamber discussing a guarda uh powers bill. Um and the Justice Minister was in the doll at the time and he said he got an update from uh directly from Ongardi Shikana about the incident um with Michael Healy Ray um and he wished him well and said, you know, an attack on a member of the Eractus
