Yes, absolutely, because this is going to be just the start, David, of a long legal battle by Politico, CNN, and MS Now T V, those are the three organizations that have been banned from the White House, uh, to secure a full time and permanent restoration of their credentials to enter the complex. What uh District Judge Timothy Kelly, and I think it's important to underscore, he was appointed by President Donald. Donald Trump. What he said last night was that he's granting them a temporary restraining order because he clearly does not see any constitutional basis for the White House decision to throw them out of the White House briefing room, of their workspace at the White House and uh to uh d to um cancel uh the credentials.
That allows them to enter the complex on a daily basis.

So he's saying for at least the next two weeks, the seventy-eight journalists and broadcast technicians from those three organizations must be allowed to return to the White House. He says they're engaging in propaganda. But that is not what the legal uh defence of his actions uh suggests in documents that White House lawyers have submitted to the court. And uh the judge wrote last night that the court is skeptical that the defendant's interest in safeguarding national security is the actual motivation for the revocation of those journalists' hard parts. So the big question now is, are those seventy eight journalists going to be readmitted to the White House today in time for that all important summit meeting with President Xi Jinping that's going to begin in beginning in a few hours' time, or is Donald Trump going to try and uh obfuscate and double down and delay uh honouring the judge's temporary restraining order?
I suppose one of the interesting things about this, Simon, well, one of the interesting things is it l kinda sounds like he this was off the top of his head and it hadn't really been thought through from a legal point of view. But the other interesting thing is that Unusually all of the other T V networks um took the side of their colleagues who'd been kicked out and they refused to operate that the White House pool, so Donald Trump wasn't getting the T V coverage which we know he craves so much. He might be quite glad of this.
How are the major broadcast networks reacting to the media ban and what alternatives are emerging?
Well, he might be, although I'm not sure exactly where all this is going to head, David, because you're absolutely right. The five networks that operate that broadcast T V pool, ABC, C B S, NBC, uh, CNN and the Fox News Channel, all said they were downing tools and that that pool was not going to operate, and indeed it hasn't operated uh since Monday. But you've also got a host of much smaller Outlets, many of them propaganda outlets, not traditional broadcast journalism in any uh meaningful understanding of that phrase. And they all see opportunity in this. So there are organizations like Real America's Voice, One America News, these are pro-Trump propaganda outlets that are beginning to have talks among themselves about whether they might
