What pre-game atmosphere and team updates kick off the Thursday Rub show?
Shut up! The footies of Triple M! Triple M footy starts your weekend early. How do you like me now? With every massive moment. What about this? This is the Thursday rub. You can refer to me as the queen. For Ream Hot Water and McDonald's, Triple M Rock Footy.
Round 21 starts tonight. We've got our fixture for the last two weeks of the season. It is a run to September and it all starts now. Big game at the Triple MCG tonight. Collingwood and Geelong. The Cats going in without Patrick Dangerfield. The Pies going in tonight without Brayden Maynard. We have got the AFL footy boss Greg Swan joining us in 25 minutes from now. Don't go anywhere because he will be in the chair. We're going to hit him with all the hard questions and as we always do on Triple M Footy and on the Thursday Rub, we'll hit him with a few of the weird and wonderful things as well. It's a different look to the way that the teams are coming out tonight. There's all sorts of good stuff going on, and the best part about it is the Thursday Rub is how you start your footy weekend, and the best part about all of that is that we're all in the same place at the same time for the first time in about five weeks.
I'm Jack Heverin. The queen of Triple M Footy, of course, is the All-Australian, Kate McCarthy, who is in the house. Kay Mack, it is nice to see you.
It is great to be here and all be in the one spot, as you said, Jack. And it's going to be a cracking game of football, but there's plenty to get through before then. And Jay-Z, the Royal Commission has taken Victoria by hold this week. Everyone is up and about about the segment. The new Premier is speaking about it. It is massive. It's gone big. And I'm glad we made it all the way to the top with the Royal Commission.
Hasn't it been a good week for Victorian politics after about five years of shit weeks for Victorian politics? Isaac Smith's won a Norm Smith five years. Five years. Isaac Smith's a Norm Smith medalist. He's won four premierships. He's got a big smile on his face tonight, Isaac Smith. Nice to see you. I do have a big smile on my face. I'm looking forward to getting big Greg Swan in the seat. Oh, hello, Howie. Mark Howie. Let's just walk into the box, everyone. How brown does Howie look?
Oh, no.
It's just annoying. Nice glow coming down. I wasn't sure. Anyway, so we've got Big Swanee coming in. I'm looking forward to it. Loves his wine, loves his dogs. And he just celebrated one year in the chair at AFL House. So we can have a little bit of fun with him. Coming up very, very shortly, the chief football writer of the Herald Sun, Jay-Z Clark, has bounced in. He's ready to hit Swanee with all the hard questions. And, Jay, it's nice to see you. I feel like you've got a lot you want to talk about with the boss. Well, it's been a week of scrapping stuff. Isn't it, Victoria? We scrapped the Premier. Now we're scrapping the suburban rail loop. And I've got some stuff that we can scrap in football. So I've got the goal line technology potentially.
So I think we'll get to that. But I've liked your work because we come to the MCG, don't we, team? And we go straight to the fridge and we grab a drink or something to eat. and you've brought out a Tupperware container, like your mum's packed you a lunch or a dinner or something like that, full of healthy stuff, fruit, rice, vegetables. You've brought your own dinner to the footy, Jack. Yes.
He's a new age man, and men can do that for themselves these days.
Actually, to be fair, my beautiful wife cooked all the food. Come on, Jack. Is this body as a temple sort of protein style? No, no, this is the food is that bad at this place that you've got to bring your own. I have seen him in the gym, though, Jay. He shifts it. He does. He does. Yep. Well, I bought my own snacks.
We mentioned it last week. What are they?
Oh, the beetsers.
The beetsers. I thought, what better way to review it than to taste them?
Just go back, explain what the beetsers are to start with first.
Okay, well, it was Izzy that brought it up. Let's listen to it.
So Shapes have just released a combination and it's called Beezer and it's barbecue and pizza.
