I think if there's one word that stays with me, it's scale. Because I remember when I was sitting in the courthouse and Giselle Pellico's lawyer began describing the website that Dominic Pellico had used to recruit over 70 men to rape his wife. And he described it as the weapon of the crime. And That's how I think you can understand how we get to a scale of 70 men.
If it was not for this website, Coco, Dominic Pellico would never have been able to find like-minded men, men who shared the same fantasies that he had. And I think that that's what began what made us want to look into these sorts of websites and, of course, porn sites where you are now consuming porn on a scale that is massive.
So I think those were kind of the two, the link between these stories, which is the scale of the men and then the scale of the content that we discovered on this website that we went undercover on.
How did you discover that there was more content beyond Dominic Pelico's kind of chatroom website he was using? Was it hard to find these other platforms, this other website?
It wasn't hard at all. There were websites that were advertising themselves as Coco's replacement. So men, you'd find men discussing this on Reddit chats, online forums where they would say, oh, Coco's been taken down, but you might want to head here, here and here to find the same kind of content, to find the same like-minded people. And that's how we began going down this rabbit hole.
And then Motherless, which is the website that we ended up going undercover on, we had also heard from these German journalists who had worked extensively on this site. And they had already brought to light a lot of what we will talk about later on, I imagine, sleep content.
