What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Wow, I think that's the first time in 743 episodes you've hit the button. I've hit record. You cannot not be aware we're recording.
And I waited until you were ready, by the way, as well. Oh, good on you. I should have asked you a question, then hit record halfway, and then you would have got the tail end, like you do with me. You would have got the tail end of something juicy.
This is Swanky Studio we're in. Fortunately, it's an audio-only episode, so you'll have to imagine it, folks. But Stephen and I are on a couch in a hotel room with a pop-up TV behind us.
Yes.
The TV pops out of the couch.
Yeah.
I walked into the room and the bed's in the middle of the room so it's not up against the wall, which is insanely weird. It's like an island. And I thought to myself, there's no television. Isn't that strange? And I thought you're on the Gold Coast. By the way, we're on the Gold Coast as guests of Mercedes. But I thought to myself, it is very strange not to have a TV in a room though. And then there was a weird, when you walked in, did you remember what happened? Yeah, there was like sound. The TV was on. And you thought it was my computer playing a YouTube video or something. By the way, my hearing is like George Costanza's vision. You think so? Yeah. Think about what happened today. We were driving all day and Stephen's – he's driving and I'm in the passenger seat.
And I said, mate, are you going to turn that indicator off? And he goes – No, no, I left it off. I forgot to turn it off because I can't hear it. Yeah, and you go, well, it's a problem. You can't hear it so you leave it on. I went, mate, how can you not hear that?
I don't know, it must be some frequency that I can't hear because my hearing is good. Mate, I did a hearing test with the AirPods and I had very good hearing. Yeah, can you go to an actual hearing person then?
But that was a clinical grade test I did. Yeah, but maybe they don't test that frequency. If you're cooking an idea of frequencies, by the way, I don't want to hear about frequencies this week. We're going to talk about OzAlert in a bit, but if I hear another person talk about frequencies and conspiracies, I'll go nuts. Mate, it's very weird that you don't hear the indicator on the car.
And you know what? In my own Merc, I can't hear it in my own car either.
So your ears can't hear the Mercedes blinker frequency. What about press cars when you're driving a random car?
Oh, yeah, I can hear those. Yeah, so it's Mercedes frequency. It's Mercedes frequency I can't hear. What's up with that?
Well, I'm sure you'll raise it tomorrow with Mercedes. No, I won't. Just like you've raised six times to them today that your car's been delayed until October.
Well, they might be able to help me, mate.
My favourite thing was Gerry, the boss of Mercedes, going, shrugging his shoulders, going, oh.
Yeah, good on you, mate.
As if to say we've got a long queue of people that want it, mate. If you don't want it, someone else will.
I got it early. As soon as it was available, I got in. Anyway, I've got to wait even longer.
Why don't you write to the dealer principal and say, listen. I've had words with her. I'm sorry to hear that XYZ has left. I know who you're talking about. I don't know who they are, but the dealer principal is the person responsible. And just to say, listen, I'm not a mug. I know that I ordered it the day it was available to be ordered. So what's going on?
Anyway. I have had words with her before. About what? About my EQE. Do you remember? I had it for two days and it said some error. The boot as well. It had some error and it said, oh, you've got to take it back and repair it straight away. And I wouldn't have it for a month. I went, what? I said, I've had the tower two days and then you tell me that. And I've written a big long letter, email thinking unacceptable, brand new car, not cheap. And I get a call from her. And I said to her, I said, your problem is you're new to electric cars and you've got no idea. You're brand new to electric cars and you're not up to scratch with electric cars.
