Transcription

Chapter 1: What joyful news does the 'Duck Dynasty' family share?

1.533 - 3.389 Jase Robertson

I am unashamed.

0

3.893 - 5.063 Unknown

What about you?

0

6.646 - 15.16 Jase Robertson

Welcome back to Unashamed. For you, it's been one day. For us, it's been two minutes because we're jumping right back in. But I do want to give congratulations.

Chapter 2: How does new life prompt reflection on faith and purpose?

15.24 - 38.468 Jase Robertson

I just received a text that John Goblin, our good friend and Paula from our Duck Calling Room podcast, are grandparents. Their daughter Johanna just had twin girls this morning. Everybody's healthy and doing well, so we're excited about that. And, you know, Johanna had some issues getting pregnant and had some problems.

0

38.508 - 43.504 Jase Robertson

So there was a little bit of fear and prayer this morning, but everything's good. So God be praised.

0

43.737 - 48.403 Phil Robertson

Slightly larger than a crappie. Yeah, four and six pounds.

0

Chapter 3: What lessons can we learn from Peter's restoration after failure?

48.563 - 60.918 Phil Robertson

In the large mouth bass arena as far as size because there's two of them. Yeah, that's right. I'm only saying that because that's probably how he's going to describe them because he's now a guide. A fishing guide.

0

60.978 - 74.355 Jase Robertson

Yeah, that's what he wants. Well, my oldest daughter, Anna, who now takes care of mom, she turns 40 this year. I can't believe it. I have a child about to be 40 years old. that she weighed one pound and 15 ounces.

Chapter 4: What are the three types of love discussed in the episode?

75.176 - 96.205 Jase Robertson

And I remember Dad saying the first time Dad went and visited her, he looked at her, and, of course, she was 12 inches long. So, I mean, we're talking less than two pounds. So this is like a crappie, you know, speaking of fish. And Dad looked at her and he said, Al, I caught fish bigger than her just yesterday. And I said, I know, Dad. And it was so funny because we were so young.

0

96.59 - 106.422 Jase Robertson

And I was a new Christian. I had just come back to the Lord, and Lisa and I were fairly newly married within two years. And so it was almost like we were so faithful.

Chapter 5: How does Peter's foretold death relate to his journey of faith?

106.583 - 112.49 Jase Robertson

I didn't even fear probably as much as I would now. I was just thinking she'd be fine, and she was.

0

112.51 - 118.518 Phil Robertson

Yeah, and what a wonderful human reflecting God's image she turned out to be. She turned out to be, yeah. She's awesome.

0

118.578 - 121.922 Jase Robertson

I told Mom and Dad both that back before Dad crossed over. I said,

Chapter 6: Why should we be thankful for unanswered prayers?

122.425 - 138.542 Jase Robertson

Y'all remember when that one right there, we were in their room, and I said, Dad, do you remember when she was that little skint squirrel, what she looked like in the hospital? He said, yep. And I said, did you ever think she'd be almost 40 and taking care of you and Mom? He said, God is good. Yeah, that's what he said.

0

138.562 - 142.647 Phil Robertson

Yeah, she kind of became Phil's favorite, you know, just in the last months of his life.

0

142.767 - 145.39 Jase Robertson

Well, she's the oldest, too, so it doesn't make sense.

0

Chapter 7: What does Jesus offer us at the end of the day?

145.41 - 146.271 Jase Robertson

She's the oldest granddaughter.

0

146.291 - 160.715 Phil Robertson

It's okay to play favorites from time to time. It is, especially when you've got somebody taking care of your folks, which is good. All right, we have to get to John 21 because this is the last venture for John in the last podcast.

0

161.235 - 184.28 Jase Robertson

So we're into the last—well, I wouldn't say it was the last appearance. It's the last one in John, but probably chronologically, obviously there's one more when Jesus leaves, which I would call the last appearance, which is the Great Commission, Matthew 28, Mark 16— Where he gives them the charge, and then he literally flies away, and then you pick it up in Acts 1.

0

185.742 - 190.149 Jase Robertson

Luke, who wrote the book of Luke as well, is basically— I mean, he probably wasn't flying.

0

Chapter 8: How can we apply the lessons from this episode in our lives?

190.55 - 199.243 Phil Robertson

He just— We just left here. Yeah. I mean, he was in the air. He was levitating. He was levitating. Maybe he disappeared. Yeah.

0

199.223 - 202.99 Jase Robertson

Well, he got to some point where they were looking, and then it said they couldn't see him.

0

203.01 - 215.171 Phil Robertson

Well, it said a cloud hid him from their sight. But the reason I'm playfully pushing back is because he was no longer bound by space or time.

0

215.832 - 225.557 Jase Robertson

Which is how he's sitting at a table eating with two guys, and then it said their eyes were open, they saw him, they recognized him, and then he disappeared. What does that mean? Well, how'd he get in the room when the doors were locked?

0

225.678 - 242.346 Phil Robertson

Exactly. So I want to say that because there's a lot of bad theology out there that starts trying to... attach him to space and time. And so, because we use those words. Well, when he comes back, I think a better word would be when he appears.

242.826 - 262.521 Jase Robertson

Which is so interesting, Jase, because I just had this conversation. There's a lady, a wonderful lady that sits with mom now for, she's kind of the regular during the day. And so we were talking yesterday and we've always had a lot of conversations because she's there. And so you're always talking with mom and talking with her. And so somehow this came up about what we're going to be like.

262.561 - 275.497 Jase Robertson

I guess we were probably talking about dad and maybe mom, you know, like post-resurrection. And then the lady, she said, well, the only thing we know is we won't have a physical body. And I was like, oh, do we know that?

275.577 - 284.829 Unknown

I said, why do we know that? So I asked her. Then she starts telling me. So I said, well, you know, and then I just kind of subtly went into a little Bible study with her, you know.

284.929 - 304.573 Phil Robertson

We did read the Luke 24 last time where he – Out of Jesus' lips said, look at my hands and my feet. A ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see I have. He's not a ghost. Zach, give us about five big words that nobody's ever heard of to put an exclamation point on that.
