Chapter 1: What is Erin Holland's journey to motherhood?
A listener production. I'm Bec Chard. And I'm Jess Roberts. And we're done with the smoke and mirrors. Fainish shares honest stories about what it takes to look amazing because we did not wake up like this. And you should know the stuff that we chat about on this podcast is based on our personal experiences. We're sharing it for your entertainment. It's definitely not medical advice.
And we'll always be clear with you when something is a paid endorsement. Please always chat with your qualified healthcare team before making any decisions about your health. Hey guys, it's Bec Jard. And Jess Roberts. And welcome to Vainish. Oh, it's been a stressful few days. Oh, it has. And you know what? It's not the type of stress. It's like family stress and all that stuff. Work stress.
Not that. Not that. It's purchasing ticket stress. Purchasing ticket stress. Holy crap. I have three phones open to get tickets to Dom Dollar, which is like a fucking rave. I know. And I'm 43 and I've got... I've got 12 tickets so far and I'm going to get more. Do you know what the funny thing is when I was watching all this unfold? And we had this group chat, you know, on about Dom Dollar.
I was laughing because it said, like, what was it, 27,000 people in front of you? Yeah. Just like, then you panic buy because once you're in the room and you've got it. You just get them all. You just get them all. So unless you've been living under a rock, Dom Dollar is playing a stadium show at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. He's turning the Marvel Stadium into a super club.
And I think they're going to put the lid on, which will be cool.
And then we're going to blow it up. off.
Oh my gosh. And it is on the Thursday night before the AFL Grand Final. So Dom and his team have been teasing it and we knew the tickets were going to get launched and we had all of our friends on our Dom Dollar chat because you've got to understand that our group of girlfriends, like we travel all around Australia and all around the world to see Dom Dollar. It's so bad. Honestly.
How many times have we seen him? Mid-30s, 40s. I don't know. I've probably seen him, I don't know. 20 times? No, maybe not that many. But I've seen him around the world. I've seen him in like Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, so many times overseas. Anyway, so we're all there. And we're all like married mums. Chasing a 32-year-old man at 33. And we're all there and we're all logged on and I jump on.
And it is so bloody stressful. It is. And the thing is... I jumped on and I was 18,000 in queue. Your sister was 27? And my sister was 27,000. There were people with 30,000. We all jumped on at the same time. And then my girlfriend Charlotte jumped on. She was at my house with me. She jumped on. She was 1,800, right? So she got in, got tickets, and I ended up getting in ā

Chapter 2: How did Erin navigate her fertility challenges?
Wow.
Amazing. So let's... Baby chat. Baby chat was epic. I loved that. But we've also touched base that you haven't really changed your routine except for I'm sure skincare or like maybe, yeah, like exercise. You said, you know, obviously you're doing it at 70% now. So what is the day in the life of you? Like what is your skincare wellness routine? I'm going to just stop you right there.
I'm terrible because I do not have a routine at all. We love that. There is no routine. I mean, I live in two cities. Yeah. And then you're overseas all the time. I'm overseas a good six, seven months of the year, at least in different time zones.
I think the thing about me is that I'm so malleable and hopefully that will make me a good parent because I don't know what sleep is and I think I'm permanently jet lagged as well with the travel. But there really isn't a routine. It's just try and make the best possible option, decision, decision.
with what you've got and whether that's I can't really train properly today because there isn't a gym in the hotel I'm at in the middle of India wherever I am and this is what I can do so I'm going to do that or... I need to prioritize sleep. I'm really tired. I haven't slept very much.
I'm not going to get up at 4am and go to the gym before I start shooting all day from six because that's not in my best interest. I just try and make the best possible decision with what I've got. And yeah, that goes down to beauty. Such a sports cliche, babe, but you're taking it one day at a time.
One day at a time.
One day at a time. And it's just, it stops the disappointment or getting psyched out of your mental space of, oh, well, this week's done now because I stuffed up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I'll give up. I'll just go again. No, just if you can get up and you can move in some way, that's what I do. Oh my God, you're going to be the best parent ever.
When she hits the phone, you're like, so cool, calm and collected.

Chapter 3: What insights does Erin share about her IVF experience?
And do you change from Sydney to being obviously in a humid environment? Do you like change skincare routines or- No. That's too much drama. Too much drama. It's the same face. Talk to me about your hair. This hair is insane. Is that all yours? No. But it's been so well coloured that I had to ask because there's no real difference in like the texture and colour between your hair.
Well, you know I'm blonde naturally.
I'm just his colour naturally. So these broods get done every three weeks because I'm fair as. We're white blonde. Norwegian. I never knew that. You're Norwegian. We're Norwegian background, English, Irish, Norwegian, very fair, very pasty skin. Same as me, we're probably sisters. Cousins. Can't go on the sun because I'm like Vikings. We are, we are.
So this is all completely manufactured and yes, I have a whole head of hair extensions. It's just got done. I'm very passionate about this and look great. Whatever your hair journey, whatever works for you. But for me and what I do for work, I need a keratin bond. I need something that can be malleable no matter what.
So whether I'm wearing a slick back like your beautiful do today, whether I've got my hair down, because the bonds are flat bonded, so I use great length extensions. It's real hair. It's just not grown on my head. And it's just the easiest way to have the most available options for styling.
Jess and I have these sewn in weft and I might look okay from the front, but from the back? Give us a look. You can see them. They need to be. Yeah, you can just see the line. They need to be moved. But also I need to keep them really low because I've got a low crown. So in the wind, they separate and you can see them if they're too high.
So I'm going to have it low, but then you can see it in a podium. I play netball and tennis and it's a drama. So I'm going to get the keratin bonds.
I really am. How long does it take you? It's a process. Like it definitely takes a few hours. But what I like about them as well, and the number one thing I get asked is, Does it damage your hair? Obviously, with how much you get it styled. And my answer to that is, and I saw my hair only two days ago when Remy redid my hair extensions.
But my own hair is better quality now than before I got hair extensions. Because when you're styling the extensions. It's not your hair. It's yay. It molds in around it. And so because the extensions hold shape so much better than your natural hair, I'm not styling my hair every day. I got this done two days ago. I haven't touched it. Yeah. Until I wash it, this will still keep the bulk of that.

Chapter 4: How has Erin's career influenced her beauty routine?
you know, just to kind of fill in.
Yeah.
And just to follow, you know, when I get my wax, the shape of it. But I did find that like when I did it, because we're so blonde, you'd see all these little white hairs and it was dark underneath. It was weird. It was weird. It was weird. I actually do enjoy it. I just need to, if I was to do it, do it more often.
Yeah.
That's all it is. Yeah. But yeah, no, I get it. I get it.
The permanency of it scares me a little bit. I like the fact that if, you know, if it goes out of trend or if it's Yeah. You know, we're doing a shoot or something where they're like, no, we want that like no brow look. And I'm like, I'll give it to you because they're on my face. Yes, that's so true. That's so true.
And with extensions, the great thing is, is like I don't have to commit to a look so I can chop them off and then I get a new set if I want the length or we can change the colour really easily. I'm not attached to my hair, which is quite nice. So I don't have to worry too much about committing to something because if I hate it, I'm like, oh, I'll just put some more back in next time.
Next time I get it done, which is fun.
Yeah, there you go. All right. Here is our iconic question to ask you. What is your most vain-ish moment? I love it. Everyone laughs about this.
