Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the Video Gamers Podcast. Blood of Dawn Walker is out, we've been playing it, and we finally have the answer to, is this game going to be good? We've been getting our inner vampires on, watching Twilight and Blade, and prepping hard to bring you this deep dive. Before we get to what's sure to be an absurd amount of vampire references, some introductions are in order. I am your host, Josh. And joining me, we all know he can't bear to bring himself to hurt an animal. So all his blood sucking was 100% grade A human. It's Ryan. One deer, two deer, three

deer.
Josh 1:03
Okay, there's our first vampire, the count. The count from Sesame Street for those people that might be older than. He's counting how many
Ace 1:10
deer got
Josh 1:10
away from him,
Ace 1:10
Josh.
Josh 1:11
30. Oh, I thought all the deer got away. That's obvious. And joining us. He's got the pale skin of a killer and the blood red lips of a... I don't know. They're just always red. It's
Ace 1:29
Ace. It's not even the white balance. I don't even know anymore. I think it's just my face at this point. Or you're a vampire and you're just got a little bit of... I mean, I am a vampire. I live in this dark room with no windows.
Josh 1:44
We're figuring it all out. You know... Every now and then I write some intros and I go like, yeah, these are good. I'm going to get them good. I was proud of both of these. Well, welcome in everybody. We are going to be deep diving Blood of Dawn Walker. You know, this is a game that we really didn't know what to expect. In all honesty, if you haven't heard any of our previous episodes, number one, welcome in. Number two, go check those out. But yeah, this game was really an enigma to people and nobody kind of knew what to expect. I know none of us were really hyped for it. Not until like the week
Ace 2:22
before. Yeah. And that's when we kind of started to get interested in it. There wasn't that build up. There wasn't like
Ryan 2:27
a, oh my gosh, I can't wait for Blood of Dawnwalker.
Ace 2:30
It wasn't like our most anticipated release by any means.
Josh 2:33
Yeah. And it was morbid curiosity more than anything to go like, what is this game going to be about? And is it going to be good?

How did each host’s mindset going into Blood of Dawnwalker affect their play experience?

Josh 2:41
And then the reviews started coming out. The reviews were like, okay, this game seems like it's pretty good. But man, as people know nowadays, reviews are all over the place, man. You don't know what to expect from people. Things are getting tens that aren't tens. Things are getting sixes that aren't sixes. It's just one of those. It's very tough to know. So I feel like it definitely did increase our hype to see some of these good reviews coming out. But we have all been diving into it. Um, we're going to get to our thoughts on that here. We're going to tell you what the game is about, you know, what the combat is like, cause it's got our kind of unique combat system. We're going to tell you whether it's worth the $70 price tag, because this is selling as a premium title.
Josh 3:22
Um, so we're going to cover all that here as we get into it. But before we get to that guys, we got a new, a new member of the, of the clan, the vampire clan to
Ace 3:33
thank. Yeah.
Josh 3:34
And that is the one and only Chris Brown, who signed up for rare status to support the podcast. So, Chris, thank you very much. Thank you, Chris, for supporting the show. You know, we don't we would not exist if it wasn't for the support of our listeners. We are an independent podcast. We are gamers. We don't have some giant website that is saying, hey, go make a podcast and we'll just fund everything. We buy all of our own games. And so it is due to the generous nature of people like Chris who just signed up and every other one of our supporters that you all out there are able to listen to this podcast. So this is your kind of call to action that if you love what we do and you've been a listener for a while, we do need your support.
Josh 4:20
I mean, games are getting real expensive, people. Every time we deep dive something, usually it's over $200 out of pocket for us to do this. We buy these games so we can give you impartial reviews. We give away a lot of games, all that stuff.
