Chapter 1: What is Dispatch and why is it gaining popularity?
Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the Video Gamers Podcast. Today we dive into Dispatch, the indie game superhero comedy sensation that's taken the internet by storm. But first, some introductions are in order. I am your host Ace, and joining me, he's usually a hero himself leading a team on the front lines, but today he's been demoted to my water boy. It's Josh. That's some high quality H2O.
My mama said that you got to stay hydrated.
Wait, wrong water boy. Sorry. My mama said.
Alligators are ornery creatures.
It's because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.
We could just do a waterboy episode, man.
Oh, no. Bobby Boucher. The only thing he wanted to dispatch was his brain from his skull when I told him we were diving this game.
It's Ryan. Ain't no water in this gun.
How many times did we have to check on Ryan to make sure Ryan was playing dispatch? I think four or five times, genuinely. We had to make sure he played the game.

Chapter 2: What are the unique gameplay mechanics in Dispatch?
And we know how Ryan is just easily distracted with Ark Raiders. And so we were like, Ryan, you got to play Dispatch.
Yep.
And then I happened to look before recording at Ryan's steam to see which achievements. I think Brian has more achievements than I got. And I beat this game. And I'm like, wait a minute. I think Ryan might be trying to like, like to do the old switcheroo on us. So I'm saying, I think Ryan liked this more than he he's letting on. We'll find out at the end of the episode, I guess. I guess?
To the end? Are you going to wait until the end?
Until Ace says, hey, guys, let me know what you thought. Go ahead. Tell us now. I want to know.
Well, yeah, I think I have to tell you now because I freaking love this game, dude. This was so sick. This was one absolutely far and away. I finished seven straight episodes. And then I was falling asleep in my chair, and I was like, I can't do the last one. I'll do it on Sunday. I almost ground out this whole thing in one sitting. This was one of the sickest experiences I've ever been on, dude.
This was dope. And I was trying to play you guys. I even talked to our homeboy, Legendary Jake, and he baited Ace in a little bit. He said he had a talk with him about telling him how I hated it.
He warned me.
He said that you hated it. I freaking love this quote-unquote game. I'm not going to call it a game because it was really just a TV show. It's an experience. It was so sick. Dude, I'm excited to like dive into this, but this TV show was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. I wish I made some different decisions and went down some different paths, but everything I experienced, dude.

Chapter 3: How does the narrative structure of Dispatch influence player experience?
I'm just going to call it a show.
Legitimately.
It's a show. It's a show. Because, dude, the characters were incredible. Memorable. The voice acting might be some of the best voice acting I think I have seen in a game ever. Far and away. Ever.
uh the you are instantly invested in these characters you they do such a good job of like making these superheroes feel like normal people uh you start to really become invested in the story it's got some weird like almost like you know there's romance in this game so you start to kind of care about the characters and then you're like yeah but what about that character in the game's like no no no
this character and you're like yeah but what about and the game's like no no no you know so but it's like it's like ryan said dude you will laugh you will cry you will be oh you know that kind of thing you'll be like i knew it and then you'll be like oh wait i didn't know it oh i knew it no no it keeps you guessing yeah my goodness dude this it's incredible dude
Yeah, I wanted to get everyone's opinion of it out of the way before we dive into it so we can actually talk about some of our experiences, some of the choices we made, things like that. And everyone kind of has an idea. But before we do that, I just want to give the disclaimer. This game is very mature. Yes. This game is for adults. Yep.
And it is a narrative game, so we're going to have to talk about the narrative. Yeah. So there will be spoilers. It's unavoidable.
So this episode will also be for adults. So this is your warranty.
No, no, no, no, no, no.

Chapter 4: What are the character dynamics in Dispatch and why do they matter?
Yeah.
Like, we haven't gone over the Z team members, which are these villains you control, but you get an option to cut one of them very early on. You get to, you know, just take one out of your team completely.
It's not really an option. You have to cut one of them. Yeah, you have to cut one of them.
Who'd you cut? Oh. I cut Coop. Yeah, I cut Coop.
What? I cut Coop, too. She's an evil assassin. She doesn't belong on the team, Ryan. Yeah, she's super sweet and has a bunch of combat abilities.
She's a weird bat guy.
Bat guy was the only brains in the whole operation.
No, you had a weird bat guy in a suit. He's just like walking around with a bat face. Who was your intellect guy? I actually used Prism. I used Prism and I just worked her intellect up. She was at like a 7 or an 8. I had her intellect way up.
Yeah, Prism is another one of the Z Team members. You've got Flambe, which is a hot-headed guy who fought Mecha Man in the past. Lost a couple fingers there. And sings probably one of the funniest songs in the entire show.

Chapter 5: How do choices impact the storyline in Dispatch?
It really is worth it, dude.
It's a must experience for sure. Just sit down. Treat it like you're going to watch eight episodes. They're about 40 minutes a pop, like honestly, to get through one. If you understand what you are getting into, you will not leave disappointed in this one, and it is a master class in what something like this should be. So I'm going to go 9-5 as well.
I played seven –
Chapter 6: What are the mature themes explored in Dispatch?
I played seven straight, dude. I only didn't do the last one because it was 1230 in the morning. It does start to really draw you in. I was falling asleep. I was like, oh, okay.
My wife kept saying, are you going to play like Ark Raiders with your friends? And I'm like, no, I'm playing this game for the podcast. You know, like this game. And I just, one more episode. It's like binging. One more. One more episode.
Which is perfect for me. I think 9.5 is perfect. And I want to say, this game is only $30.
Worth every penny. Worth every penny. You would spend $20 to go see a two-hour movie. You're going to spend $30 to get a six-hour movie. Like, the best show you've seen.
Yeah, absolutely. So thank everybody so much, so, so much for listening to this one. I really wanted to talk about Dispatch. I'm so glad we got to do it for the year.
Good job, Ace, pushing us into playing this. Yeah, by the way. We had to cram this one in. It was kind of last minute, but Ace was like, guys, if we start playing now, we can have this ready for next week. And we're like, all right, let's do it.
Yeah, it was totally worth it. I'm so glad we did it. Be sure to rate our show five stars. Leave us a review if you have not already. On Spotify, you can do it there, too. There's a little rating there. You just go two clicks. That's it. That's all you have to do. We have a discord full of fantastic members that you are.
gonna love to meet they probably want to talk about dispatch story just as much as you if you've played it already if you haven't uh this was your sign and of course we have a patreon if you want to go that extra mile and show us a little bit of support it would mean a lot to us but uh until next time happy gaming see ya all right see everybody
