Traditionally, couples used to preserve the top tier of their wedding cake, because it was considered good luck! In the early 19th century, couples would preserve the top tier of their wedding cake so they could serve it at their first child’s christening, for good luck. These days, couples preserve the top tier and whip it out on their first wedding anniversary! This sweet tradition can only be sweet if the top tier of the wedding cake is preserved well!
