What did David do yesterday?

Max Rushden 0:02
Podcasts, there are millions of them.
David O'Doherty 0:08
Some might say too many.
Max Rushden 0:10
I have one already.
David O'Doherty 0:11
I don't have any, because there are enough.
Max Rushden 0:14
Politics, business, sport, you name it, there's a podcast about it, and they all ask the big questions and cover the hot topics of the day.
David O'Doherty 0:20
But nobody is covering the most important topic of all. Why is that? Are they scared? Too afraid of being censored by the man? No.
Max Rushden 0:30
Possibly, but not us. We're here to ask the only question that matters.
David O'Doherty 0:35
We try and say it at the same time, Max.
Max Rushden 0:37
What did you do yesterday?
David O'Doherty 0:37
What did you do yesterday?

How do Max and David engage with listener correspondence?

Max Rushden 0:38
What did you do yesterday? That's it. All we're interested in is what the guests got up to yesterday. Nothing more.
David O'Doherty 0:45
Day before yesterday, Max? Nope. The greatest and most interesting day of your life?
Max Rushden 0:49
Unless it was yesterday, we don't want to know about it. I'm Max Rushton.
David O'Doherty 0:53
And I'm David O'Doherty.
Max Rushden 0:55
Welcome to What Did You Do Yesterday? Hello and welcome to, what is this Dave? This is kind of, if we call these years now AW after Willy, the birth of Willy Rushton, hopefully like his grandfather, he will be a mainstay on Through the Keyhole in 30 to 40 years time. This is episode one of AW Midweek Mayhem, or does that confuse things further?
David O'Doherty 1:21
Yes.

What is the cheese game and how can listeners participate?

David O'Doherty 1:21
I mean, the counting system, the fact that there was a series, we don't understand why there was a second series because we didn't pause to acknowledge it. You, however, have had another child. Correct. This is your seventh, eighth, ninth? I've lost count. I'm not Boris Johnson. I'm the Boris Johnson of football broadcasting in every way. On behalf of all of the listeners, and I include myself in that number, unlike you, we say congratulations, Max, and many happy years of fathering in front of you. The thing is, it didn't happen yesterday, so... Wow!
Max Rushden 2:03
Don't care.
Wow!
Max Rushden 2:06
As soon as it was the day after Jamie had given birth, whenever she said something, I'd have to say, I'm sorry it didn't happen yesterday. So, Frey, these are my new rules that I live by.
David O'Doherty 2:16
Wow. That is brutal.

What are the challenges of touring as a comedian?

David O'Doherty 2:19
This podcast has really hardwired your brain.
Yeah.
Max Rushden 2:24
Here's a note from producer Malzbaum. This week, we had more emails than we've ever had before by about 500%. However, 90% of them were just people emailing the word Malteser. Now, if memory serves me correctly, I was concerned that no one was listening to the second paternity episode. So I said, could you just send a word Malteser? It appears that people have.
David O'Doherty 2:45
I think we should explain to the listeners the reason we're so full of vim and vigor is firstly because you've had a child. And secondly, we took two weeks off from it. And so we're now returning like almost like first day of preseason. And it's great.
Max Rushden 3:03
What a relaxing two weeks it's been. I feel... i've been in dubai been licking steak from salt bay's eyes haven't you david we went on warm weather training in dubai it's the place that we really like to go to the listeners just don't appreciate that for every one midweek mayhem they hear we do six training ones that rebecca says

How do David and Max feel about their recent time off?

Max Rushden 3:30
Hi, Max and David. While listening to the What Did You Do Yesterday, number five episode of Midweek Mayhem, I was both horrified and intrigued by the story of David's fusion cooking. Yes. My brother and I once tried to make pizza wontons by putting tomato paste, cheese, pepperoni, and capsicum inside wonton wrappers, closing them up, and then steaming them. They were delicious, but as my brother worded it, we felt we had simultaneously destroyed the cuisine of two different cultures at once. We never made them again. I wonder if David's Italian burritos will ever make a return, Rebecca, an Aussie living in Wellington in New Zealand. You've started something, David. Yeah. Actually, I can't remember.
Max Rushden 4:09
Maybe it was Mrs. Rushton. Someone said they didn't actually believe you did it. The only reason you did it was because you were on the podcast. You were doing the podcast the next day. No one would ruin a ragout.

What culinary experiments are discussed in the episode?

Max Rushden 4:21
No one would ruin it.
David O'Doherty 4:23
This is like you not being able to ask Mrs. Rushton about the birth or anything because it didn't happen yesterday. Yeah.
