Welcome to the 12 Days of PR mini-series.Bitesize nuggets of PR gold to get you thinking about What Is Public Relations?. Hosted by Laura Perkes.
Chapter 1: What are the essential elements of a successful PR pitch?
Welcome to the next mini episode of the 12 Days of PR. And in this episode, I'm going to be dropping some truth bombs and some fire content that is going to help you to be seen, heard, hired and paid as the authority.
But the reality is... that you are fighting the noise in a busy inbox. So this is why I'm very passionate about making sure that your pitch is as perfect as it can be to get you noticed in the inbox. But often as the sender, as the person who has done their research, who has created the ideas, who's written the email pitch,
We've put so much into it that when you hear crickets, when there is tumbleweed rolling through your inbox, you do start to question yourself.
Chapter 2: How can you handle rejection in public relations?
And this is entirely normal. And this is why the more you do it, the easier it becomes at handling the fact that you've not had any feedback. Because even if a journalist replies, it's either going to be a yes or it's going to be a no. If you want to be featured in a women's monthly magazine, their timeframes are six months in advance. Nothing is going to change that.
Chapter 3: What should you know about media timelines for pitching?
So there's no point fighting it. There's no point trying to change it. It's never going to change.
Chapter 4: What can you do while waiting for PR feedback?
You just have to accept it and see what else you can do in the meantime.
There is more where this came from. Make sure you are subscribed and tune in to the next mini episode that will be dropping tomorrow.
