They've lost five in a row, which is highly unusual. The Storm CEO, Justin Rodsky, is about to join me. This was Craig Bellamy's thoughts after the fifth of those losses.
Yeah, I don't know. I'm sort of sick of summing them up, actually. We've done a lot of good things out there tonight, but we've done some... things that really cost us as well you know so yeah it's just you know inconsistent would be the best word to describe it i would imagine you know i think for the five games i think we've lived at halftime for four or at least three and you know just can't can't get the uh get the result at the end you know so um like i said we're all scratching our head at the moment so um We'll come together, you know, the next day we'll meet up and hopefully someone's got some ideas and that'll go from there.

Are we now entitled to be worried?
Well, we're obviously disappointed to be in the position we're in. So, you know, unfamiliar territory for the Melbourne Storm, but I do think that we are We turned the corner on Friday night, albeit we didn't get the result we wanted. I thought the way that we played was much better and I think that there was enough improvement in the key areas across the game that, for me, tells me that we're heading in the right direction again and we've been able to address some of those issues, albeit, again, we didn't get the result on Friday night. Why has the Melbourne Storm experienced five consecutive losses?
the players and the team have taken a lot of confidence around the way that we started to play. So hopefully that comes to fruition on Saturday night and we get back on the winner's list and reset the season a little bit because, yeah, it is unfamiliar territory. But I think, you know, when you go through these challenges, it's a good opportunity too for our team, for our club, for our leaders to find the path through it and fight through it. And, you know, that's what we're going to do.
Has it prompted anything different at the club in the past couple of weeks, Justin?
No, not really. Like, I think, you know, when you go through these periods, obviously you look to leadership and ensuring that, you know, we address the key areas of our game that we know need improvements. But at the same time, you know, focus on the strengths of our game. And, you know, through this period, whether it be through personnel with injuries or turnover of players across the summer, we've had a lot of inexperienced players, you know, in our team, particularly on one of our edges. You know, that's... contributed I think to a little bit of a fall in confidence in terms of the way that we play so I think it's about making sure that we just acknowledge that yep these are the areas we need to improve but at the same time have a lot of confidence in our strengths and the game we play and the players that we've got and I think you'll see a much better performance on Saturday night.
So we always search for comfort in moments like these. So we found two precedents. The last time Storm lost five games in a row, it was 2012, and that was on Route 2, a premiership. And last season, I said this is where I found myself. Last season, Penrith lost five in a row early. They were two and six, and it seemed over. It seemed like their time was over, and yet they led a preliminary final. Can you draw anything from Penrith last year?
I think absolutely we can. You know, I mean, the challenge for us is learning to win in a different way than what we have in the past.
