Chapter 1: Who are Gi and Blake and what brings them to the podcast?
Hey friends, it's your girl A.D. wishing you all a very happy new year and welcome back to another episode of What's the Reality. Y'all, by the time you hear this, I will officially be on maternity leave, but don't worry, I'll be back. So enjoy the episode. I can't wait to catch up with y'all when I'm back. So enjoy.
Hey, everyone. I'm Giannina.
And I'm Blake.
We are so happy and honored to be your guest hosts while AD on maternity leave.
Yeah, we're just keeping the couch nice and warm for AD. So don't worry. She will be back when she's ready. But we got some really fun episodes lined up for you guys. We're really excited about it. And a nice little surprise, too. We got a fun surprise for you guys, which I think you guys are going to love. I really do. I think they're going to love it.
Well, I think you guys are in good hands. I don't know. I can't promise that yet. It might get a little bit messy.
Anytime you put a mic in front of GE, it's going to be good.
You don't know what's going to come out. But I figured if we're going to be spending some time together, then we should just get to know each other and us a little bit more, especially me and Blake as a couple. And why is he here? He doesn't even go here.
Yeah, we come from two different backgrounds. Reality universes, so I think yeah, I think some people might know her but not me might know me not her that kind of thing So I think we introduce each other We kind of interview each other a little bit and you let you guys get to know you know us as a couple I'm gonna put you in the hot seat Blake.

Chapter 2: How have reality TV shows like Love Is Blind and The Bachelor evolved?
I wonder if you would have been the villain. I feel like you might've been the villain.
Yeah.
I think you would have maybe been the villain just to like, well, I think cause you think, I think the girls, I think you might've butted heads with the girls a little bit when it came to like, cause you don't like to share. I don't like to share.
No, I know. So that's interesting. I don't like to share my man.
Yeah, exactly. Well, yeah, nobody does, but you kind of do on the Bachelor and Bachelorette.
You have to. Yeah. It's icky. That's a shame.
They really thought about you and like, that's kind of interesting. I wonder how I'd be on Love is Mine because I've never watched, never watched your episode either. Again, I've, or your season.
Did you Google me?
Yes, I've also Googled you. I know all of the... which I think it's a travesty. Let me stop there. I think it's a travesty that your quotes were not in the top five. You have like three quotes.

Chapter 3: What challenges do Gi and Blake face as new parents?
And this is going to make headlines and clickbait and all that fun stuff. But honestly, I think my feelings towards The Bachelorette and Frankie Paul. I think my frustration is, well, there's a little bit of frustration with it. I understand why they did it. Like, I get why they did it, right? Like, Bachelor franchise used to be the top of the mountain. They were the mountain.
You know what I mean? They were it. And now you got other shows. Love is Blind, Love Island, Perfect Match, all these shows that are honestly doing better, in my opinion. I think they're doing better. Then the Bachelor franchise. And so they, I do think they need a little switch up.
And for those of you out there who've been calling for a switch up for years and now you get it and you're angry, like you can't, like you wanted the switch up, right? You wanted something to change. They needed to switch something up. They did it. What I think I wish they would have done is I wish they would have just called this like celebrity Bachelorette. You know what I mean?
Because to me, for 30 odd seasons, right? It's been 30 seasons between The Bachelor, Bachelor at Paradise, all of those. It's always been about the right reasons, right? It's just pounded into us as the audience.
Can you clarify what are the right reasons?
Well, now I don't know. Now I don't know.
What did it used to be? Cause that was like the Holy grail of the bachelor franchise.
I think it was just being there for love. Like if you want to just simplify it, it was being there for love. It wasn't, you know, trying to get influencer, you know, being an influencer, get following, get famous. It wasn't that. So,
And now they have someone that's an influencer.

Chapter 4: What is the hilarious game of Relationship Roast about?
You had no idea. So I always find that so interesting because obviously I was like season like 30, you know what I mean? Like I was like way up there. So I knew the kind of moral sort of what I was getting into.
But I always do think like maybe you do watch the show. Maybe you're so obsessed with The Bachelor and then you apply and all this stuff. It's very different. And you know this from watching something on a screen to them being in front of cameras, crew, the person that you're supposed to fall in love with. And it's just it kind of takes time.
All of that away because you really don't have any other preparation, you know, you're just like i'm just gonna do what I think is right But some people do try to go with the playbook and i'm telling you producers will always catch There's like a thousand cameras a thousand mics they can just They're masters at reading people if you think you're gonna go in and get away with something you ain't so don't even try actually try it makes for a good tv, but you know so true, so
Obviously, we both come from different universes, right? In the reality TV universe. And for those of you that don't know, we met on All Star Shore. So it was a Paramount Plus television show.
MTV.
MTV, Paramount Plus game show. It was a challenge show. So it was not a dating show. We were not even supposed to like...
fall in love at all no at all um and so talk to like how did you get on the show how did you you know when it came to like them calling you and everything like what was so i think for me it was very interesting because i had just i filmed after the altar the year prior and then it takes a long time for things to air on netflix so it aired july 31st
And in between October 1st of 2020 when we filmed and July 31st of 2021, there was a lot of things that I was told that you find out later on. When you watch it. When you watch it that it was not true. So I kind of came off of after the altar being aired just being like, Oh, I don't trust anybody. I'm just going to look out for me and do what I want.
And so instead of having to take care of someone else's emotions, like they're a little baby bird in the palm of my hands, that obviously didn't work out.

Chapter 5: How do Gi and Blake balance their relationship with parenting?
then you come down in your little Hawaiian shirt with the white and the blue flowers. But it's really interesting because I didn't even notice that. I just remember that later on what I noticed was just like your fricking aura. Like you're just such a little ray of sunshine and you're just like coming down and I know you now because you turn that shit on.
And you just go and you're like walking down and you're like big Blake smile. And I'm just like, why does he look so familiar? And you're like, I'm from The Bachelorette. Like, big, huge grin. And I'm like, oh, fuck. I was like, no. Not The Bachelor guy.
I think it's the first time you ever told me I have good aura. I am taking that to the bank. Yeah.
I love that, actually. And then after we got together and we came home, I noticed your wardrobe. And I was like, oh, it's all flowers and patterns and...
And guess what? None of that. She threw it all away.
Holes and pants. None of that. Hell no. Look at you now. Look at this.
Touche. I like my fit now.
Styling by G. Yeah. No, but you look great. And, but I just loved you from like. Oh.
That's sweet. I'm going to cry. Oh, that's sweet. Yeah.

Chapter 6: What insights do they share about wedding planning?
Yeah, we got a little baby boy and engaged.
Engaged.
Engaged. Yes.
Yeah, you did good, honey. i did yeah we got engaged last november october but whatever october got engaged last october in madrid and now we're just planning a wedding with a one and a half year old baby yeah and just trying to kind of maintain or manage a lot of I never thought I would live my life so publicly. And I think a lot of people that we're gonna talk with too,
they're a lot a lot of them are on the same boat as far as like what to share what boundaries how do you use your struggles to help this audience that you are you know so blessed to have now and I think that's just a very big reality of ours is our day-to-day is very mixed up with our public life um and I'm comfortable with it but I don't know do you think that
How do you think that helps or hurts our relationship?
The public eye? Yeah. I think we've become more of a team than ever before. Than even we maybe would have been before. You know what I mean? Always. We always have to have each other's back. And we do. Always have to have each other's back. You know what I mean? Yeah. Sometimes to a fault where I'll see somebody say something on one of her pictures and I'll be like, I'm going to get them.
And she has to calm me down. I'm always like, oh, I'm going to go stalk their profile and say the meanest thing about them. But she always stops me. She's like,
think think like you're right you're right you're right um but no i think yeah i think that's again not something we ever anticipated but i think it's made us stronger yeah why don't we get into some relationship questions so they can really get to know us what's a moment in our relationship you wish you could relive

Chapter 7: How do they navigate public life and its impact on their relationship?
All right, next question. What's our favorite thing we do together that we never show online? I think I know. I know.
If we did that, it would be OnlyFans. No, that's not what the question meant.
Oh boy, there it is. There's the old OG GG bed rot. I think our favorite thing we do that we don't show a fan, like that we enjoy is we just bed rot. We just sit in bed.
We kind of show that.
We will go days where, you know, we're very busy. We travel a lot, but then, and we love showing that, but then we'll also get home and spend two days in bed.
Oh, two full days.
Like Netflix and binge. And we just, as the kids call it, we bedrock. Yeah. And I think that's something that like, obviously, you know, you don't really show because it's not that exciting, but we, our happy place.
We're professional bedrock.
Yeah. Our happy place, our special place, I always say is in bed.

Chapter 8: What lessons have they learned from their relationship journey?
And it's so amazing just to see you become, oh my God, become a man, like more of a man that I think it even caught you by surprise just because it is very different when they're newborns and they're just depending on the mom. And now I think you've really, really stepped into your dad role. You know, he looks up to you. And I just think that that's also making you
look at how your reactions are and just a little bit more like, oh,
Yeah, I think a hundred percent. I think, I think it had you right. I think it's surprised me a little bit and how much I've not only like enjoyed being a dad, but how much I just kind of like naturally my, my, I don't know. I don't know if it's instincts. I don't know if it's just, you know, thousands of years of evolution, but instantly it was like, oh, I need to do better.
I need to be better at work. I need to work harder. I need to build this, now I'm going to cry. You build this little man, a little, you know, a good life. And so I think it surprised me a little bit, even like, I was like, oh, Mike, I'm living for him now. And I like I want to live for him.
That's that's the difference, I think, is like I wasn't I always was like, yeah, I want to be a dad someday. And I didn't know what to expect. But now it's like, oh, like, I am so glad I'm here and I want to live through his eyes. You know what I mean? I love watching him live life through his like in his eyes. It's so it's so cool.
So what's like your one wish or hope for Heath to have as he grows up?
See, and this is another thing that changed for me when he was born. Because if you had asked me 10 years ago, like, oh, you have a son, what would you want for him? And I'd be like, oh man, you know, I'd say all the things like, oh, I want him to play football. You know what I mean? I want him to, I want to play catch with him in the backyard. And I want him to get a scholarship to college.
And I want to like go and watch him play and like things like that. And have a beautiful family. And now the second he was born, I just want him to be healthy. Like that is all you care about. And it's all I continue to care about is just healthy and happy. And that is not how I thought I would like think, you know, when it came to like the future. I just, I don't care what he's into.
I don't care if he wants to paint and I can't paint at all. I'll still go to his painting recitals or whatever they call them. I don't even know. But like, I just want him to be healthy and happy. And I, that's something I don't, I mean, I know I want him to be healthy and happy, but like, I thought I'd want other things. So now I'm just like, I just, I don't care as long as you're happy.
