Join our hosts Al Salas and his husband Carlos Torres. Al and Carlos have been together since 2002. They retired from our respective careers in DC in late summer 2016 and initially moved to a small, mid-Atlantic shore town, Lewes, Delaware, where we had been weekenders for about two decades. After wintering for 6 weeks in Spain in 2018, they decided to investigate moving there. To that end, in 2019, they took two, 3-month “reconnaissance” visits — the first during winter, the second in summer — to decide whether and where to move. They fell in love with several coastal cities and towns between — and including –Valencia and Malaga but ultimately decided to settle in Alicante.
