Michelle was the only female pilot to fly with the Thunderbirds when she served and the fifth female pilot to ever fly with the squadron. She was the first woman to fly as part of the 335th Fighter Squadron and worked for three years as an F-16 flight instructor in the 355th Fighter Squadron in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a lead solo pilot in 2020 and 2021 who flew on the outer-left wing of the Delta formation of six F-16s. Her team did flyovers with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
