Hi Candace. Hi Kyle. I know you've been doing a little bit of traveling. It's nice to have you back.
Candace Burch 1:05
Thank you. Yes, I was in California with my daughters, um, doing fun things like going to see River Dance, which I strongly recommend anyone who hasn't seen River Dance has to see it. It's the most joyful experience. I mean, honestly. My daughters and I were just laughing, crying, dancing. We we did our own uh we did our own audition for River Dance after River Dance. Which I would love to post because it's hysterically funny because at one point I fall over. But um But but you know, it's it's just the height of the summer kind of experience, I would say. I love that. I think I saw that
Kyle McAvoy 1:46
probably twenty five years ago. And it's still
Candace Burch 1:49
they're on their thirtieth anniversary actually. Yeah,
Kyle McAvoy 1:51
I remember when it came out, it was wonderful. I love the music. How fun, how fun. Well, you know, it's it's springtime and today, even though this probably won't get posted for a while, I just wanted to say Well, first of all, you know, in keeping with our commitment to stay informed about news that matters to us and in turn the things that matter to our listeners, uh, we are continuing to try to do a monthly one-on-one, Candace and I, just the two of us, because we feel like we have there's so much to talk about. We don't always need a guest. We can be our own guests because we both have a lot to say as usual. And things come at us so fast in the news, and it's hard to keep up. And so we know that topics come up, and we know we've heard from people that the topics that we are interested in that our our listeners are interested in too.

So we're going to try to cover as much as we can on each one-on-one. But today is particularly a very important day in our country. It's Memorial Day. And my my father's been gone. Now, I can't believe it, almost 11 years, but he served in World War II, as did many of our fathers. And um, and I always like to think, and I think Candace does as well, and all of us should be remembering. I know that at three o'clock today we've been all st we're all supposed to stop and and think about those who've served before us or serving now. Um these people are. you know, uh cut from a different cloth than many of us are. They've dedicated their lives they s selflessly to serve our country. And even though our times are very divided now, whether we should be in this war or that war.
Kyle McAvoy 3:27
These people have selflessly committed themselves to serve us and protect our democracy and our freedoms. So I always like to remember people that are th those brave people who have died in the service of our country. So
Candace Burch 3:41
and they are so brave. I remember going to a few years ago being in Massachusetts and going up to To Lexington where the They you know, the Lexington Green where they had one of the first altercations of the revolutionary war. And just looking at the distance in that little green, if you can imagine just a a around a park in your own community and the Brits facing the Americans like six feet away from each other. How would they so brave? Have you
Kyle McAvoy 4:12
seen have you seen that documentary? I only watched the first two or three episodes of the new Ken Burns American Revolution. I mean, yes, to your point, um, uh in warfare is warfare, now we have drones, but people are still faced with decisions and being brave and being at sea.
