You big up my my
All right. Welcome back to another episode of Working Dogs and Whiskey, and I'm Sean White. I'm sitting here with my friend, co-host Jonathan Moses. How are you? Tired, but yeah, we're here. Cool. Yeah. I think this is our first episode by ourselves though for the year.
Is it really? We've been hammering out that many interviews?
That's a mixture between that many interviews and us not
I guess just just for our viewers, we did this was planned not to hit as many episodes in the first half of the year just 'cause we had a lot going on with our dog training companies.
Yeah. So we took some time out to do some I guess for me on my end, a mentorship with John. So he's been helping me with doing the pet side stuff and investing in that. And then we said as of June, that's when you're get back on the podcast and be more consistent. But it's our podcast.
Yeah, we would actually we've been doing stuff in the background though. We've still been working dogs, talking about dogs just about every fucking day still. So we've still been getting after it.
Yeah, no, it's been good. Um there's a lot of things that are looking good for the future. It's been a strategic moment. Yeah, it's been good. So I think the the theme of this episode will be s just talking about what we've been doing for the last five months of this year. One of which one of which, excuse me, we got to go to hold the line together in Beach, South Carolina. So um I got to go out there visit with John. We were supposed to record an episode while we were there. And that didn't work.
Until we'll fashion, we way overloaded our schedules. Like
big time. Between um driving from John's house to go t to the conference and uh coming back and training until what, one, two in the morning? Dude, I was so tired the
whole conference. Like it was such a good conference. I apologize, so he'll sleep in your class. Uh was not the class. We were just out all night. We don't get a train together very often. And uh we were running tracks through contaminated areas and downtown settings. Uh till like yeah, two o'clock in the morning. And then getting up at what five? And heading back the hits or the whole line. Yeah.
Yeah. No, it was a good though. Uh so let's let's backtrack or in January we started we said we were gonna go ahead and focus on business aspect. Do you want to talk about any of that part or fast forward.
Yeah, just uh so start of the year, at least me and Sean said I would have the number and a goal in mind that we want to try and attack and accomplish on our pet business at the start of the year. But we set our yearly goals. What we'd like to see happen. We still got some things working in the background that are growing and uh really, really good upside. Everything's looking good. But it picked up a lot faster than I think we could anticipate it and started coming in pretty quick. My yearly goal was done by the start of J end of January. It took like what two weeks. And now we're about to crush the second half of the year. But it definitely took our undivided attention to organize everything and kind of juggle it as it came in.
And we're starting to figure it out and kind of balance things out for the rest of the year where we can get back on the podcast and kind of keep things going.
it. John's being very modest. We did not crush anything in January. No, honestly it was a very peculiar year for you over in South Carolina. Yeah. Well John was super happy for you I was um I was a little frantic because I had nothing but silence for like the first two months, I think. No, towards the end of January. It was like two weeks. Yeah. Yeah, first couple of weeks. So it was very interesting for Dean. But yeah. Um I think it's been an interesting journey, like starting the like being a little bit more aggressive about the side of things and
