US stocks slipped for a second straight session today as vacationing Wall Streeters and cautious traders await tomorrow's July inflation report. The NASDAQ fell 0.6%, while the SP 500 and the Dow both fell right around a third of a percent. Oil touched ninety dollars a barrel early today, but then paired its climb. Brent crude futures are now at more than eighty nine dollars a barrel up from yesterday.
