Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome | the most common overgrowth disorder in childhood

Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome is the most common paediatric overgrowth and cancer predisposition disorder. It is a genetic condition presenting with a wide range of symptoms and signs. Sometimes it is referred to as exomphalos-macroglossia-gigantism syndrome.  Individuals with BWS are at increased risk of developing embryonal cancers, with the most common one being Wilms tumour.
