Welcome to Your Wrong About. I'm Sarah Marshall and today we are talking about the 2010 book and runaway bestseller, Heaven is for Real. And yes, it was published as nonfiction. We were talking about it with Adrian Daub, co-host of the In Bed with the Right podcast. Adrian also teaches comparative literature at Stanford, and he also has a new book coming out called What Tech Calls Governing. It's out on August 18th, and this critic is calling it the nonfiction horror hit of the summer. We talked about it a little bit in my lightning round episode with Kelsey last month, and after I bought it up, I knew that it was time to read it. I also wanted to tell you that later on in this episode, at about fifty-six minutes, we talk a little bit about pregnancy loss as it pertains to the story in the book we're discussing. And I will tell you my favorite Halloween memory, which is that when I was in, I think, first grade, I was gonna go as a monarch butterfly. I had been given some butterfly wings, I think, by one of my brothers. And I wanted to wear a black bodysuit so I could be a beautiful, sleek monarch butterfly. And because it was late October in Oregon and we are going to be trick-or-treating After dark on a houseboat morage, my mom, I think reasonably at this point in my life, wanted me to wear a black ski suit instead so that I could stay warm. And somehow I got my way and got to wear a unitard and be what I felt to be a theatrically appropriate butterfly.
And the thrill of getting my way that night is something that. Has never entirely left me. So that's my hallowing memory.
