PISCES on Coffee: How to Release Trauma and Let Go of Emotional Attachments.
01 Mar 2022
SUMMARY Trauma is a decision made with feeling, and it will continue to be your attitude until it is altered or changed. Brian McNeil and Michael Pierce discuss how people might use others to fill the emptiness inside rather than taking responsibility for their own feelings. McNeil shares that when people are faced with their own traumas, they often don't want to deal with them, and that's when people start using others to fill that emptiness. The conversation discuss how our beliefs can be based on intense experiences that shape our view of the world and how those beliefs can affect our lives. The speaker suggests going back and looking at those experiences from different perspectives to see if they are still accurate and to release any negative emotions attached to them. TIMESTAMPS 0:00:01 Trauma and the Difficulty of Letting Go 0:01:23 The Power of Reframing Your Past HIGHLIGHTS And you can also see from the perspective of the person who was involved in the trauma. So let's just say it's your mother's. So now, as an adult, you can go back to the younger, you can go back to the point of view as an adult, you might even be able to check in with a point of view as your child and adjust whatever was wrong and then go into the mother's point of view and go, oh, my gosh. This is kind of the work of Barricade. But it's like if that is affecting us and affecting our love life, it's affecting our life. We can go back and take a look at that moment of when that happens and really, really look at it like go back as if we're there so literally kind of like go back and just ask and take a look if it's really, actually the way that we interpret it, or if it's maybe slightly different.
