In this episode of Zen Business, I go over some of the key factors of my financial journey that helped me not only gain financial freedom and helped build a profitable portfolio, but through many wins and losses, taught me the importance of teaching yourself financial wisdom. In this episode, we learn the following: - "Planting Seeds" with your financial investments - Taking care of your mind by self-educating - 3 books to read for your financial wisdom - The steps towards paying off debt and securing the foundation for your portfolio - The most basic rule, investing in what you know - Using limited funds to teach yourself resourcefulness - Splitting your portfolio investments into "risky and non-risky" - Learning to pay yourself - The diversity spectrum - Using different platforms and splitting your investments - "Just set it and forget it!" - How you are losing opportunities to make money when you spend Most of us do not learn how to be wise with our money in the public school system, and we tend to rely on the word of our parents and elders when it comes to being smart with investments. Times change, however. Most of our parents may only know limited information, and certain methods are outdated and ineffective. Requiring a college education should not be the only threshold for learning to invest, and you don't have to be of "college-age" to start learning. We all want to know what's smart for our money NOW, right? Teaching oneself how to invest, where to invest, when to invest, and why to invest can be the smartest decision one can make for their future. And the wonderful thing about current times is the limitless sea of public resources and all the other root-learned investors who are able and willing to help you begin your journey. In this episode, we discuss how learning from my losses, diversifying my investments, and years of patience brought me to where I am today. 3 Books for your Financial Widsom mentioned in today's episode - "Richest Man in Babylon" - George Clason - "Profit First" - Mike Michalowicz - "Money Master the Game" - Tony Robbins Find me on Instagram at @itsjmaxim where you can view my Zen Business and Lifestyle Tips.
