Kyle offers an perspective of what life was like on Keating before October 3, 2009 the Command Outpost Keating in the Nuristan province of Afghanistan was attacked by more than 300 Taliban fighters. Kyle talks in depth about the hours fighting on the ground to win back American control of the combat outpost. He and his unit of just 53 U.S. cavalry scouts ultimately repelled over 300 Taliban fighters while defending COP Keating. Eight Americans lost their lives, hundreds of enemy were killed.
