Theileria luwenshuni and Novel Babesia spp. Infections in Humans, Yunnan Province, ChinaCitationEmerging Infectious Diseases. 2025 Sep;31(9). doi: 10.3201/eid3109.241919.概要中国・雲南省における発熱または貧血を訴える1,721名の患者を対象とした調査により、新たな血液原虫感染症の存在が確認された。PCRおよびWestern blotにより、13例に Theileria luwenshuni、6例にBabesia属の感染が同定された（内訳：3例がB. microti、3例が未同定の新規Babesia種）。マダニ、家畜、小型野生動物を調査したところ、多数でこれら原虫の陽性が認められ、ベクトルと宿主との間での循環が示唆された。臨床像として、T. luwenshuni感染例は農業従事者が主体で、貧血や倦怠感、嘔吐など非特異的症状を呈し、血液検査では汎血球減少が頻見された。Babesia感染例でも疲労や貧血などが主症状であり、重症例はいなかった。本研究は、従来ヒト病原性の報告が少なかったT. luwenshuniや新規Babesia種が、雲南省で人畜共通感染症として循環している実態を初めて明らかにした点が重要である。医療現場においては、診断時にこれら原虫感染を念頭に入れ、臨床的および分子学的検査の導入や、血液製剤の安全管理にも注意が促される。今後、血液ドナーのスクリーニングや有効な診断手法の確立が公共衛生上の課題とされる。
