世界では、毎年1億3千万人の子供が生まれています。ワクチンを世界中の子供たちに届けるにはどうすれば良いでしょう？民族毎に言葉が違う途上国で、ワクチンが感染症を予防するということを理解してもらう。そして、冷蔵状態で運ばなくてはならないこと。在庫管理の問題。これらの問題をクリアするためには、ただワクチンの接種に介入するだけでなく、現地の人々の理解を得ながら、一緒に仕組み作りをすることが大切です。今回は、「ワクチン～命を守るクスリ」と題して国立国際医療研究センターの蜂矢正彦先生に、ご自身のラオスでの活動を例にお話を伺います。
