今回のテーマは、 『はまなす』。「知床旅情」をはじめ、数多くの歌に登場する「はまなす」。「北海道にふさわしい花」という多くの意見により、1978年、「北海道の花」に指定されました。主に、海岸の砂地に自生し、初夏になると花を咲かせます。北海道に夏の訪れを告げる花として愛されてきた「はまなす」ですが、昔から、花や実は様々な形で利用され、その研究は今も続いています。前回に続き、今回も「はまなす」を地域資源ととらえ、その活用方法を研究している北見産学医協働センター理事の金澤勉（つとむ）さんに、北海道の花 「はまなす」について伺います。
