アイヌ民族は、日本列島北部周辺、とりわけ北海道の先住民族。その文化は、マンガ「ゴールデンカムイ」のヒットや白老町に民族共生象徴空間ウポポイがオープンしたことで、より一層注目されています。その中でも、民族衣装に施された独特の文様や刺繍は、現代のデザイン、ファッションに影響を与えています。今回も北海道大学アイヌ・先住民研究センター客員研究員の津田命子（つだ・のぶこ）さんに「アイヌの民族衣装」について伺います。
