今回のテーマは、 『北海道のブドウ』。北海道のブドウ栽培の歴史は、およそ150年。明治初期に始まります。令和5年の収穫量は、全国で5位。日本全体の収穫量が減少するなか、北海道の収穫量は、近年、増加傾向にあり、ブドウの一大産地になるのではないかと、注目されています。「寒い北海道で、ブドウの栽培は難しい」と言われるなか、どのように発展してきたのか、そして、これまで以上に、ブドウを地域資源として生かしていくには、どうしたらいいのか。今回は、北海道の中央農業試験場で果樹栽培の研究をしている佐藤三佳子さんに伺います。
