Description
「五稜郭」は、星の形をした日本で最初の西洋式の城塞。明治新政府軍と旧幕府軍が戦った函館戦争の舞台になった場所で、日本の文化財の中でも特に重要な「特別史跡」に指定されています。現在は、五稜郭公園として一般に開放され、春は桜の名所として多くの人でにぎわいます。また、『ゴールデンカムイ』など、いくつもの作品の舞台として描かれ、人気の観光スポットにもなっています。先週は、長年、五稜郭の調査・整備に関わってきた函館市教育員会文化財課 学芸員の野村祐一さんに、『五稜郭』の基本的なことを教えてもらいました。今週は、五稜郭の見どころや様々なエピソードを伺います。
