江戸時代中期から近代にかけて、主に北海道と大阪を日本海まわりで往来した北前船。北前船が北海道にもたらしたものは人々の生活と発展を支え、今の私たちに繋がっています。また、北海道から運ばれたものは日本各地の産業と結びつき、文化となって花開いています。今週から3週にわたって、小樽商科大学客員研究員の高野宏康さんに北前船についてお話を伺いますが、私たちがこれまで抱いてきたイメージとは異なる、意外な北前船の姿が見えてくると思います。
