オホーツクの内陸のまち「遠軽町」。その遠軽町にある「白滝遺跡群」の出土品は、今年6月、国宝に指定されました。白滝遺跡群は、旧石器時代の遺跡であることから、日本で最も古い時代の国宝であり、函館市で発見された縄文時代の土偶「中空土偶」に次いで、道内２件目の国宝です。白滝遺跡群の出土品はどういったものなのか、そして、なぜ、国宝に指定されたのか。
