今回のテーマは、『小樽市総合博物館』。北海道を代表する観光地・小樽市。１年間に、およそ800万もの観光客が訪れます。そんな小樽の歴史や自然を伝えるのが 「小樽市総合博物館」。今年、「第5回 日本博物館協会賞」に輝きました。これまでに受賞しているのは、岡山の大原美術館や東京の「ちひろ美術館」など、名だたる美術館や博物館。「小樽市総合博物館」は、全国1200の施設の中から選ばれ、日本を代表する博物館と認められたのです。「小樽市総合博物館」の魅力は何なのか。前回は、館長の石川直章（なおあき）さんに、博物館本館について伺いましたが、今回は、小樽運河に面する運河館や管理に携わる国の史跡「手宮洞窟」についてお聞きします。
