観光庁が毎年実施している「訪日外国人消費動向調査」のデータをもとに環境省が推計したところによると、2016 年の支笏洞爺国立公園を訪れた訪日外国人は 826,000 人で、富士箱根伊豆国立公園に次いで全国 2 番目に外国人利用の多い国立公園でした。その支笏洞爺国立公園に属する支笏湖は千歳市西部にある淡水湖で、面積は78.4㎢。屈斜路湖に次いで日本で2番目に大きいカルデラ湖です。両湖の面積はほとんど同じですが、貯水量では、支笏湖が圧倒的に多くなっています。今回は、(株)ポロピナイカンパニー代表取締役である小林 典幸さんにお話を伺いました。
