今回のテーマは『歌才ブナ林』。札幌と函館のほぼ中間に位置する黒松内町。「ブナ北限の里」として知られ、町内に広がるブナの森 「歌才ブナ林」は、国の天然記念物に指定されています。ブナは、北海道の渡島半島から九州まで、広く分布する落葉広葉樹。日本を代表する樹木の一つで、成長すると、高さは30メートルにも及びます。初夏には新緑、秋には紅葉、その美しい姿は、人々を魅了してきました。先週は、森林科学を研究する北海道大学 農学研究院の小池孝良さんに「ブナの木」や「黒松内町ブナセンター」について伺いました。今回は、国の天然記念物「歌才ブナ林」について、じっくりお聞きします
